Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lachean, Hartford City, and Rodney Cross, Yorktown, attended the nursing pinning ceremony of Jill M. Savoie, at the Raddison Hotel, in Muncie, on Saturday. A buffet supper was served to the graduating nurses and their guests. A pre-Thanksgiving celebration was held at the John Cowger home last week, with the Dr. David Cowger family, guests for the week. There were too many conflicts in the Cowger family, from Pennsylvania, so the Thanksgiving visit was a week early. Mrs. Ruth Hughes, of South Bend, spent last Wednesday afternoon in Walkerton with her sister. Mrs. Bertha Urbin. Guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schaeffer for Thanksgiving Day will be Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Reed and family, of Bremen; Mrs. Elsie Schaeffer and daughter. Julie, of LaPaz; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tombs and family, of South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Schaeffer and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Reed and Mrs. Kenneth Reed, of Walkerton.

Mrs. Florence Anderson, of Knox, spent the weekend with her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. Mrs. Barbara Kraus and her son, Bill, of South Bend, were Sunday afternoon callers. Mrs. Joseph Lowry returned home on November 11, from a week spent in Jacksonville, Florida. with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Lowry and daughter. She also visited with her mother, Mrs. Ruth Brant, in Fort Myers. Miss Linda Brown and Miss Linda Betz, of South Bend, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Josephine Betz. On November 1 Mrs. Esther Shultz, came home from a trip to Texas having helped Margery Holser Walters drive back to her home, at Pharr. Texas, after spending the summer months here in Indiana. Mrs. Shultz flew back home and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wray greeted her at Dallas where she had a layover and took her to their home for dinner and then back to the airport to resume her journey to South Bend. Mrs. J. C. Milner, formerly of Walkerton, residing at 20270 Linden Road, Argos, with Mr. and Mrs. John Flora, is home from the hospital where she was a patient for several days. She is making

slow improvement but satisfactory and would enjoy hearing from her friends. Due to the holiday weekend there will not be a dinner on Saturday evening at the Koontz Lake Conservation Club this week. Mrs. James (Kay) Cheesbrough, of Boise. Idaho, is visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Mayotte Arseneau for the Thanksgiving holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Arseneau were also surprised on Friday when they received a telephone call from their grandson. Gregg Cheesbrough. who is serving with the U. S. Navy, in the Indian Ocean. GRADUATES Jeff T. Traub, of 100 Grissom Drive, received his Bachelor of Science degree. Cum Lade, at Ball State University on November 20. 1987. Jeff is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Traub, of Walkerton. Indiana. CORRECTION Jeff Stratford, friend of the groom. South Bend, was one of the groomsmen for the Kathy Neiswender and Gary Sokol wedding on October 10. Ushers were Larry Neiswender, brother of the bride.
