REACH FOR TOMORROW Sunday, May 31, is graduation day for 128 seniors at John Glenn High School. The Class of 1987 has chosen as their ryotto: “Learn From Yesterday, Strive For Today, Reach For Tomorrow’’. This approach to life can certainly be a big asset to these students as they take the first big step into adulthood from the childhood days of their young 18 years. Graduation from high school is both a happy, but also a sad occasion. For the past 12 or 13 years, these students have been getting what everyone hopes is an education good enough to put them into the next phase of their lives with a minimum of difficulty. Regardless of whether they choose to go on to higher education and training or will call an end to formal education at this time, what they have learned along the way is ver important in their futures. There has been much talk and criticism recently about the education given to students. Strides are being taken to offer a better education. Whether or not these grades are a true reflection of the education of these students, no one can say at this time. It is the hope of all that along the way in 12 years or more of school, these students have learned more than just the A, B, C’s or 1,2, 3’s. During all this time, regardless of what some may think from time to time, the teachers, administrators, parents and friends have been helping these students in their own way prepart for more than just the visible grades received. In this time they have been helping them become young men and women, have been helping them to adjust to life after school when each and everyone will take on more and different responsibilities. They have been helping them learn and gain common sense, responsibility, respect, and in general, the basic
