SENIOIR CITIZEN BOWLING NEWS As the Senior started the last month of their season, the competition grew ever more keen. Realizing that April 29th is to be their last session, all were striving to improve their averages. The ladies, with 17 bowlers, were making the pins really fall. Merle Bruesch rolled the high scratch game with a 176 tally. June Baker followed with a 157. The high handicap game also went to Merle, who had a 226 total. Marge Buswell followed with a 217 and Norine Divine and June Lind tied with each having a 209 score. Norine Divine's 414 high series just bested June Baker’s 410 and Betty Schrader's 404. The "stats” tell the story of the spirited competition enjoyed by the ladies. With just 10 gents competing, the "noise” level was lower but the pin totals were not! High scratch game of 234 was rolled by Marion Anderson, who also took high handicap game honors with a 259 total. Mel Divine's 218 just beat F.li Sobat's 217 and Harold Schwedcr’s 216 in the high handicap. There were three gents with series totals above 500 this week. Marian Anderson topped the group with a 595 total, followed by Harold Schweder’s 54 7 and Mel Divine's 504. Nice bowling, gents. The five spectators that were out enjoyed a fine day as they cheered their favorite bowler's efforts. Remember Seniors, prepaid reservation for the April 29th banquet are due April 15.
