Rev. and Mrs. Robert C. Bowman returned from Anna Maria, Florida. While there the Gil Gordons, of Bradenton, hosted a dinner intheir beautiful condo for the Myron Mullets, Mrs. John McComb and the Bowmans. They checked in on the Chuck Hagens apartment and former friends of past years. Pine Mountain area. The restructured River Front Plaza of Louisville, Kentucky, with all its allurements excelled our greatest expectations. Mrs. Helen Cowood will be serving as hostess for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner meeting Saturday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. Remember the time change as the dinner will be served promptly at 5:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Klinedinst returned home on Monday evening of last week from a vacation in Arizona where they visited with some former Walkerton people and friends they have made from former trips. The weather was fine and it was a nice vacation. Mrs. Fran Sohn, of Koontz Lake, came home over the last weekend from a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where she visited her sister, Mrs. Ruth Eaton, and also her niece in addition to taking trips each day to various places of interest. She was in Texas for nine days. Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Bob Urbin were in Wakarusa Sunday evening to attend a birthday party
given by Mrs. David Yoder, of Elkhart, for her mother, Mrs. John Guttman in the Guttman home. Other guests were Dr. John Guttman and Jessica and Stephanie Yoder. Mr. Roger R. Whitaker, Schererville, was a Sunday luncheon guest of his mother, Mrs. Ethel Fields, of the 23 Street Apartments. Mrs. Ruth Bare is a patient in Michiana Community Hospital. Gordon Patrick is a surgical patient in Memorial Hospital. De Wayne Pavey returned to the hospital last weekend but expects to be home again in a few days. Miss Michelle Pavey, of Oregon, Ohio, was home to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey, Monique and Wesley, over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Roush and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schaeffer, of Kingsford Heights. Mrs. Ruth Hughes, of South Bend, was in Walkerton Tuesday to spend the afternoon with her sister, Mrs. Bertha Urbin. Mr. Donald Arseneau, of Santa Barbara, California, and his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Fry, of Homer, Alaska, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Arseneau and daughter and grandchildren, of Whiting, spent eight days here with Mr. and Mrs. Mayotte Arseneau the last weekend of March, returning home the first day of April. Mrs. Ruth Ullery was host for her bunco club, which is composed of 12 members, on Tuesday morning of this week. They meet from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the hostess served coffee and rolls. The members really enjoy this manner of meeting. Mrs. Harold Knowlton was released Monday of this week after having surgery last week on Thursday, from the St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend. She is home and making satisfactory recovery. Dennis Dunn, of West Lafayette, called on Claude and Gladys Sheneman Saturday afternoon. Gladys Sheneman entertained the following Monday afternoon, Iva Pommert, Mae McDaniel, Francis Slattery, Martha McCroskey and Pearl Newcomb. Refreshments of Jiffy cake dessert, coffee and other Easter goodies were served. TO CELEBRATE 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY The 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. DuWayne Burch, 108 W. Center Street, North Liberty, will be celebrated with an open house from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 12. in the social room of the North Liberty United Methodist Church. Mr. Burch and Becky Weber were married April 14, 1962, in the North Liberty United Methodist Church by Rev. Charles Patterson. Hosts for the event will be their daughter, Tracey Burch, of North Liberty, and their son and daugh-ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Todd Burch, of Walkerton. They also have one grandchild. Tri Kappa Now Taking Orders For Geraniums Spring is here and it’s time to think about those empty flowers boxes. What to do? May we suggest geraniums. Epsilon Chi Chapter of Tri Kappa members are taking orders until Monday. April 13, for first quality geraniums to be delivered the week of May 4. ANCILLA COLLEGE TO SPONSOR “A POSITIVE SELF” SEMINAR In an effort to offer support to women in the community, Ancilla College is sponsoring, under the Continuting Education program, “A Positive Self’ seminar, Thursday, April 16. This two part seminar will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a discussion on “Self Esteem” by Betty Shakes of Carel Counseling, Plymouth. At noon, Wanda Zahrt, a professional color consultant, will talk about “Image Projection’’ and will present a practical demonstration of an image make over. Chairpersons are Sister Virginia Kampwerth, President of Ancilla College, and Tari Konopasek, organizer of the program with Deloris Davisson and Claire Heckaman. The public is invited free of charge. Lunch will be available.
