Walkerton C. Os C. Initiates Funding Community Study At the first meeting of the newly organized Walkerton Chamber of Commerce board of directors, it was voted to engage Bonar & Associates as professional advisors for the formulation of a Community Needs Survey. With the use of monies obtained through the sale of “Win Coupon" books, as recommended by the "Win Finance Committee", the Chamber anticipates acquiring survey forms tailored to our community’s particular problems and needs. । Information can be drawn from the survey to give direction to the efforts of the Chamber in coordinating and organizing work toward revitalizing the business community particularly, and the community as a whole. Such results could I lead to the Town of Walkerton qualifying for participation in “The Main Street Program" that has been most beneficial to some of the neighboring towns of the region. The expenditure of funds on this type of effort has many other possible salutary results, not the least of which will be an updated brochure delineating the advantages present in our area. Such a brochures are of great benefit to present to commercial, industrial or service organizations that might be looking for a good location. Walkerton has a new industrial park now available as well as property along the main street of Walkerton and the Chamber must be in a g<x>d informational position to aid in locating new businesses or industry in our town and community.
