The 75th birthday of Mrs. Molley Casteel was celebrated with a Sunday dinner on February 22. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Beasley, bO2 Jackson St., Walkerton. Mrs. Fred Casteel and family, of Walkerton; and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Beasley, of North Liberty. Among the group were five great-grand-children. On March 4, Mrs. Vylet Baker gave a birthday party for her sister, Mrs. Ruth Bare, of Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, in Walkerton. This was honoring her 91st birthday. Guests were her daughter, Mrs. June Weber; her grand-

daughter, Becky Burch; her niece, Mrs. Fran Fraiser, all of North Liberty. Her sisters, Mrs. Ethel Hillegas and Mrs. Florence Weise, of South Bend, were also present. Birthday cake and ice cream was served and Mrs. Bare enjoyed her gifts and her guests. Mrs. Bess Ferverda and Mrs. Crystal Lawrence will serve as hostesses for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner for Saturday evening, March 14. Mrs. Florence Anderson, of Knox, was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. Rev. John Goodpasture returned home last week after spending several weeks in Indianapolis. His daughter and grandson, Mrs. Alice Ann Griffith and Douglas, spent

several days with him at Koontz Lake helping him with work around the house. Miss Machelle Pavey, of Oregon, Ohio, spent Saturday night and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey and family. Mr. Bill Carl, of Naperville, Illinois, was also a Sunday guest. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Bollinger, of Middlebury, were in Walkerton to visit her mother, Mrs. Grant Steele, who is in the nursing home, and also her father, Mr. Grant Steele. DeWayne Pavey was released from Memorial Hospital Wednesday of last week. Mr. Russell Knowlton is still a patient in the Michiana Community Hospital. Guests of Mrs. Ethel Fields on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shinn and son, of Carmel; Roger Whitaker, of Scherrerville; Carey, of Highland; J. R. Fields and family, of Mishawaka; and Debbie, Theresa and Brandon Northam, of Walkei ^n. Mr. Carl Steinke, of Indianapolis, spent four days here last week with his mother, Mrs. Martha Mull. Mr. and Mrs. Don Compton, of Mishawaka; and Mr. Lee Schafer and Miss Janice Lee, of Plymouth, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts.

Mr. and Mrs. Gaude Sheneman and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Patrick were guests on Sunday evening of the Gene Patricks. Miss Theresa Northam returned home on Friday evening from Wyoming State College, where she is attending school.
