Two John Glenn photography students were chosen national finalists in the 1986 Reflections Project. In recognition of the achievement, Readers Digest, a national sponsor, is donating a special book, “Natural Wonders of the World” to the John Glenn library. Mrs. Walter Smith centered around a statue of Mary holding Jesus after he was teakn from the cross. She brought together the birth, death and resurection of Christ. She closed with prayer. Our theme for the year is "Into The Future Led By God” and our song will be “Because He Lives”. She led us in this song accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Gale Sherland. Our purpose was displayed on a large poster and explained. The secretary’s minutes were read by Mrs. Leigh Hahn. The treasurer’s report was given by Mrs. Albert Huhnke. She asked not to forget our Phantom Tea letter. The World Day of Prayer will be at our church March 6 at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Smith is in charge of this program. All are welcome and urged to attend. Mrs. Robert Flaugher said the last Wednesday of each month we will visit the residents of Miller’s Merry Manor at 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. She also told us that volunteers are needed to assist at the Special Olympics and to house some of the families. Call her if you can help in this. Don’t forget to get your mission supplies for Fowler Mission Storehouse to the Church by March 28. Mrs. Ed Cole is in charge of this project. The Hope Circle served delicious refreshments. AFRICAN TO APPEAR AT LOCAL CHURCH Rev. Peter Nijiri, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God of Nigeria, will be speaking at Walkerton First Assembly of God Wednesday, March 11, at 7:00 p.m. The church is located on the corner of Michigan and Van Buren Streets. Rev. Nijiri has oversight of more than 700 churches in Nigeria. He will be sharing about his country, his people and the work there.
