Reflections Contests. The theme for this year’s contest was “In Celebration, a Past to Remember, a Future to Mold’’. Finalists work will compete for cash awards, prizes and scholarships. Larry Himes Receives February Citizenship Award Larry Himes, a junior at John Glenn High School, was selected the February Citizenship Winner from the nominations of the staff and teachers. A PTS A ribbon will be awarded during May. Larry's favorite subjects are Algebra and French and his hobbies include electronics and crafts. He presently works in Sandy's Doll Shop, in Tyner, which his mothers owns, but he plans to go to college and

March 12 John Glenn High School Guidance Department will be having a College and Financial Aid Workshop on Thursday, March 12. at 7:00 p.m., at the high school. Dixie Kunze. John Glenn’s Director of Guidance, will discuss considerations in choosing a college or vocational school. She will also give parents and students general guidelines on how and when to apply to post-secondary institutions. High Rettinger, John Glenn counselor, will discuss the various sources of financial aid available at the federal, state and local levels to help pay for any education past high school. Parents and students will also learn how to apply for this aid and when to start the financial aid process. Although this meeting is designed for vocationally or college bound juniors and their parents, anyone interested in these topics is welcome to attend.
