SENIOIR CITIZEN BOWLING NEWS The spectator group is increasing and supporting their individual bowlers as the season progresses for the Seniors. The 15 ladies had a fine day, compiling some nice scores. Merle Bruesch rolled a nice 177 high scratch game, followed by Helen Bowman's 166 and Doris Crane’s 156 scratch game. The high handicap game of 235 was also Merle's. Helen’s 224 bested Anne Falk’s 217 handicap game. There were five ladies totaling 400 or more for series. Mildred McKesson and Helen Bowman each made an even 400. Merle Bruesch totaled the high series of 461, Doris Crane had 435 and Gare Martin a 419 total. The ladies really made those pins fall this session! While there were only 11 gents bowling this time, they made up any perceived deficiency by the good scores compiled. Bud Weinman and Harold Schweder finished first and second respectively in all categories. For high scratch game Bud totaled a 231 to Harold’s 214. The high handicap game was Bud's 270, topping Harold's 239. Trailing distantly was Roman Brehm's 235, closely followed by Dave Lind’s 228. Bud's high series total of 579 just bested Harold's 572. Roman Brehm followed a distant third with a 512. Those totals indicate that there is still skill in the eye and arm, even though the thatch on top is gray or nearly non-existent among the Senior gents! More Senior Bowlers and/or spectators are welcome. Come join the competition each Wednesday afternoon at the Walkerton Shady Lanes. The woman who obeys her husband rules him.
