TO OFFER ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES HERE The following non-credit courses will be offered through John Glenn High School: Computers, Arc and Gas Welding, Basic Mechanics and Adult Recreation. The adult ed computer course covers all beginning processes for operating computers. Through simple BASIC programming, the participants will learn about the computer parts, proper handling of hardware and software, and how information is stored and processed. Demonstrations will be given on some widely used software for handling data such as reports and letters., inventories and financial records. The class is based on hands-on activities with both Appie and Tandy-Radio Shack computers and is designed to meet the needs of those unfamiliar with computers. In order to have a computer for each person, the class will be limited to 14 participants. The 10 sessions wiN be held at the Walkerton Elementary School on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the fee will be $35.00. The first session will be on February 17. Arc and Gas Welding adult class is designed to develop basic abSties to perform common and important operations or processes involved in the selection, operatMa, maintenance and use of welding. This class will meet once a week for five weeks beginning February 17 from 7:00 p.m. • 9:00 p.m and the fee will be S3O. The fee iodndes materials used in class. A minimum of 10 people must register in order for the class to begin. Basic Mechanics is for those persons who have little knowledge of the automobile. The course will consist of such areas as minor tune ups. oil changes, tire changes, electrical diagnosis and the proper maintenance of the automobile. The class will meet once a week for two hours each evening and will meet five times. The first session will be March 31 at 7:00 p.m. Cass times can be flexible according to the wishes of the class. There must be a minimum of 10 persons register. The fee is S3O. Adult Recreation is offered per sons interested in playing basket ball. The sessions cost $1.50 per night and have already begun on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at North Liberty Elementary Middle School.
