With the Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Teachers Credit Union began operation in their new Corporate Office Monday. December 8. The new office is located at 110 S. Main Street, downtown South Bend. At the ceremony W. B Hawkins, president of Teachers Credit Union. welcomed TCU members to their new corporate home. Reg Wagle, of Congressman John Miler's Office was on hand to present Teachers Credit Union with a United States flag vshich was then raised to the Star Spangled Banner played by the John Adams March ing Band. Mr Hau kins uas also honored at the ceremony by South Bend Mayor Roger Parent. Mayor Par ent declared December 8. 1986 Teachers Credit Union Day. To celebrated the official opening. Teachers Credit Union held a V.I.P. Member Grand Opening Saturday. December 13 and Sunday, December 14. More than 2,200 members attended the celebration, enjoying tours of the beautiful new building, free refreshments, performances by the Michiana Alumni Band, and more. Those w ho attended also received a specially designed stoneware coffee mug with the rendition of the new building. The four-story atnum structure offers members a complete service facility, housing the Loan, Mortgage Loan, Visa, Share Draft, Accounting. Computer. Personnel and Marketing Departments, as well as the Executive Offices. In addition, a special Honor Role Lounge for members over 55 is located on the first level. With over 78,000 members and assets exceeding 5367 million. Teachers Credit Union is the larg est Credit Union in the State of Indiana and the 25th largest Credit Union in the Nation.
