tournament on December 6th Eight parochial schools were represented by 12 teams. The girls division was won by Notre Dame of
Long Beach. Indiana, defeating Saint Mary's of New Buffalo. Mich igan 19-16. Trinity of Sawver. Michigan, defeated St. Joseph s of LaPorte for third place. In the boys division St. Patrick's first game of the day was against St. Paul's of Bremen. St. Pat rick's won by a score of 44 16. The Saints had a very balanced scoring attack with all players seeing action. The Saints second game was against a tough Notre Dame team, the Saints winning by a score of 42-30. Patrick s into the afternoon finals. In the final game against St. Peter s of North Judson, the Saints battled back from an 8 point half time deficit to take the lead with 32 minutes remaining. St. Peter's full court press was effective throughout the fourth quarter Each team traded baskets for the final two minutes. In the final seconds St. Peter's stole an inbounds pass and scored to defeat the Saints 35-34. Scoring was led b> Jason Groves with 16 points. Josh Rice with 14. and Craig Stocks with 4. The Saints controlled the boards with awesome rebounding bv Stocks and Rice. The defense was sparked by Shane Stratton and Mike Walters. Jason Groves shared tournament MVP honors with Josh Brunder of St. Peter's. These two were selected out of a field of 101 play-
