6 Local Girls Have Active Parts In “The Nutcracker’’ Six Walkerton girls will take active parts in Southold Dance Theater's production of “The Nutcracker” December 13 and 14 at the Morris Civic Auditorium in South Bend. Laurie Hershberger. Connie Menges. Katie Jacob. Margaret Godwin. Julie Mercer and Laura Bostwick have been in rehearsal since September for the traditional holiday ballet. On Saturday night Laurie Hershberger will dance the role of Gara, whose dream comes to life on stage. LAURIE HERSHBERGER This year the music of Tchaikovsky will be performed by the 35member Elkhart Symphony. Southhold also will unveil its new sets designed by David Higgins of Indiana University. Guest artists from New York's Eliot Feld Ballet Company will dance the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her cavalier. Saturday’s performance begins at 8:00 p.m. A Sunday matinee will start at 2:00 p.m. Reserved seat tickets are $12.00, SIO.OO and $6.00, with half-price discounts for students 12 and under and senior citizens.
