NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR SCHOOL BUSES The Board of School Trustees of the John Glenn School Corporation, Marshall-LaPorte-St. Joseph Counties, Indiana, will receive bids at the administration office, 506 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, Indiana, until 4:00 p.m. on December 15, 1986, for one (or more) 66 passenger school bus body and chassis to fit such body. Submit bid price based on payment for body and chassis made fifteen days after state police inspection approval. Request buses be delivered by August 1, 1987. If not standard, include as an alternate bid the following body items: strobe light, AM/FM radio with four speakers, rear mudflaps, rear tow hooks, and stop arm. If not standard, include as an alternate bid the following chassis items: 60 gallon fuel tank, 9,000 pound front axle, automatic heavy duty four speed transmission, front tow hooks, internal engine block heater, and hand throttle. Bids will be accepted for body and chassis separately or as combined units. All bidders must be willing to combine chassis and body bids accepted by the Board of School Trustees. Arrangements for all such combinations are the responibilities of the bidders involved in ail cases. All body and chassis bids must meet the minimum specifications of the Indiana School Bus Committee. No engine may be bid which is 6 cylinder even though it meets net horsepower requirments and RPM listings. A heavy duty V-8 engine with a minimum 350 cubic inch engine is preferred. Failure to meet any minimum requirements must be itemized and accoundted for as part of the bid. Failure to do so will be considered a breach of contract. Bids will be submitted on State Board of Accounts Form No. 95, all parts of which will be attached and properly filled out. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or bank officer’s check made payable to the order of the Treasurer of the School Cor poration or acceptable bidder’s bond in favor of said Treasurer for an amount of not less than 5 percent of the amount of the proposal, which check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages in case of failure of any successful bidder to enter into contract within ten days after notification of the acceptance of his proposal. Bids will be accepted on the date and time specified and bids will be taken under consideration, with the successful bidder to be notified at a later date. The Board of School Trustees of the John Glenn School Corporation reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and accept any bid at their discretion.
