JOHNSON JUNIORS MEET The Johnson Juniors meeting with nine members present was held recently. Roil call was “What I have to be most thankful for in 1986 . Citizenship report was given by Sandy Thomas on information of where the state gets most of the money and where it goes. By-laws were gone over with several changes being made. Linda Holland resigned as club vicepresident with Gayla Dipert taking the position. The County Council Christmas party and business meeting will be on December I at 10:00 a m. The Club will be having a Christmas pot luck on December 7, at 3:00 p.m. C.S.T.. for all members and their families. ANNUAL LEGION CHRISTMAS PARTY The annual Christmas Party for the children of the members of The American Legion and Auxiliary will be held on Sunday, December 7, at the Post Home. There will be a 1:00 p.m. carry-in potluck dinner with the members bringing their table service. Borrow a child for the afternoon if you no longer have one at home. A gift for your child, with its name, is being asked of the mem bers as Santa Claus is expected to arrive later in the afternoon. Games will be played previous to his arrival. Won't you join us? PLAN CHRISTMAS DINNER Retired friends and neighbors of the Pine Creek Church, corner of Pine and Stanton Roads, will hold a Christmas dinner on Tuesday. December 2, at the church. BETTER HOMES CLUB MEETS The Better Homes Extension Gub met on Monday evening. November 24, at the Walkerton Community Building. Mrs. Ron Shilling conducted the meeting
which was opened with the pledge to the flag and club creed. The song of the month, “American The Beautiful" was led by Mrs. Harold Eddinger. Roll call was name some of the things you are thankful for this past year. The birthday song was sung for Mrs. Tom Haag. Mrs. Harry Masterman told about the plans for the annual Christmas party. There will be a $3.00 gift exchange. Call Mrs. Masterman for a reservation and if you are bringing a guest. Cultural arts chairman. Mrs. John Wathen, told the very interesting story of how Thanksgiving was made a holiday and put on the calendar. Mrs. Eddinger was the hostess for the evening and delicious refreshments were served. Door prizes were won by Mrs. Haag and Mrs. Masterman. The remainder of the evening was greatly enjoyed under the leadership of Mrs. James Chase with her patience, good guidance and wit we all were proud of our painting that we took home with us.
