Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn held their pre Thanksgiving family dinner in their home on Sunday, November 23. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn and son. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn. Jr.. and family. Catherine and Gerald Hahn. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hahn and family. Mr. and Mrs. Garey Hahn and family. Mr. Kevin Hahn. Mrs. Mamie Hahn and Mrs. Goldie Skinner. Mrs. John Cowger and Miss Catherine Keefe were Friday afternoon visitors of Mrs. J. C. Milner, in Argos. Mrs. Keith Betz is reported as making satisfactory improvement and is now out of intensive care and in her own room which is 839. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She is very appreciative of her cards and the Betz family feel they have much to be thankful for. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shafer, of Kingsford Heights, and Mr. and Mrs. Gell Fouts were in South Bend on Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lowry who are patients in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Thanksgiving Day guests of Jane and Catherine Keefe will be their sister. Mrs. Alma Campbell and Mrs. Vee Shogren. Word was received here from Miss Theresa Northam, who is a student at Corrington. Wyoming. State College, that she will not be able to come home for Thanksgiving since her college volleyball team won their regional tournament and they will be playing in the national tournament in Miami. Florida, over the holiday. Theresa is one of the official scorekeepers

Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Pletcher and family helped Tim Pletcher celebrate his birthday on Sunday with dinner at the Chi-Am Restaurant, in Plymouth. Following birthday cake and ice cream were served. Mrs. Ethel Hilligas, South Bend, spent three days in Walkerton last week with her sister, Mrs. Vylet Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hostetler and family, of Alburquerque, New Mexico, are spending the week here with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson. The Koontz Lake Conservation Club will not meet this Saturday due to the holidays. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Damon Nichols, North Liberty, were Mr. and Mrs. Don Ries, of Deaborn Heights, Michigan. The following weekend they will be flying to Indiana for a celebration given by their three children. Judy, of Chicago. Illinois; Jerry, of Crown Point; and Stanton, of Noblesville. They have six grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. They were married on December 5. 1936, in Walkerton. They owned and operated Stan & Jan’s Drive-In for 10 years. Ihe five foot nine inch guard from Walkerton is a 1986 graduate of John Glenn High Shool, where she participated in basketball, volleyball and softball. She is the daughter of Mrs. David Bottorff and Mr. David McKesson, of Walkerton. “I chose Tri-State for its good engineering program and to play basketball at a good school and for a good coach. Coach Kennedy demands a lot of hard work from everyone, and she puts forth a lot of time and effort. She’s always there as a friend and a coach. The minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer’s reports were heard. Frieda Meyer and Ruth Dreessen were the committee with delicious refreshments served. Woman’s Club Meeting Theme Is Thanksgiving An enjoyable program of poetry, parables, proverbs and songs of Thanksgiving delighted members of the GFWC Walkerton Woman s Gub at the afternoon dessert business meeting last Friday afternoon. Participating in the vocal-verse choir were club members Mary Jane Beaty, Helen Bowman. Mildred Casey. Marj Curl, Helen Heymig, Isel McCombs, Mildred McKesson. Clare Martin, Alfrcda Onika and Alice Walker. Incorporating the November theme. “Look For Beauty In Being Thankful”, the presentation included two songs, "We Gather Together” and "Now Thank We All Our God”, with all members singing the club song, "For The Beauty of the Earth”.
