Church in Council Bluffs, lowa, where Mr. Bowman was pastor for 15 years. Then on to Parker, Colorado, to visit with their daughter, son-in-law and grandson. From there they flew to Bellevue. Washington. to see their son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters and the sights of Seattle. Then the reverse trip via Denver and home. Oil wells were bobbing up and
down in Colorado; fields of sunflowers and miles awaiting to be harvested. The expanse of this wide, wonderful continent is always something to behold! William and LaVerne Dini, of Koontz Lake, gathered their family around them to celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary, on Saturday. November 8. Joining the Dinis were their son, Bill, of Niles, Illinois; Joyce and Tom Egan, of Roselle, Illinois; and Elizabeth and Jim Aelick, of Zionsville, Indiana. The family enjoyed a dinner out in South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Kickbush have moved back to Walkerton, from Duncan, Oklahoma, after being released from the U. S. Army. They have two daughters, Amanda and Kimberly, and in the meantime are staying with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kickbush until they make other arrangements. Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig celebrated their wedding anniversary and fourth birthday of Sara Ludwig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ludwig, at the Show Biz, in South Bend, which provided fun for both young and older. Mr. Russell Knowlton has returned to his home after a stay in the Michiana Community Hospital and is making satisfactory recovery. Mrs. Geo Gark has also returned home after being in the hospital. Mrs. Nellie Smith was released from the LaPorte Hospital and is now back at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Walkerton. Mrs. Polly Klopfenstein and her neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson and two children, returned home on Monday evening of last week after enjoying a cruise to the Bahamas. The cruise departed from Port Canavaral. They docked at Nassau and enjoyed a tour of the island where they saw the natives at work and also a stop at another island called the Out Island where they spent a day. Mrs. Klopfenstein was so thrilled with the trip
that she would like to make the same trip again. They also spent some time at Disney World and Epcot Center, while in Florida. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ludwig entertained the Ludwig families along with Mr. and Mrs. William Clark, of Koontz Lake, with dinner at their home, in South Bend. This was also a birthday celebration for Mrs. Clark. Mrs. Gene Gerber was a guest Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Gerhart and sons, in Kingsford Heights. The special occasion was the celebration of Jeremy’s fifth birthday. Mrs. Helen Smith, of South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. David Hostetler, of Tyner; Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler 111, of Valparaiso; Mrs. Goldie Skinner, Mrs. Viola Barden, Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler 11, Stephen and Wayne, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hostetler and daughter, all attended the wedding of Brenda Lee McNorton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton, of Spirit Lake, lowa, on Saturday. Part of the group returned home on Sunday and the remainder of the group on Monday evening. A belated bridal shower was held on Sunday for Missey Houser, wife of Tom Houser, who were married on September 20. The shower was planned earlier but had to be postponed. Church. Mrs. Alta Bowers Andrews has moved back to Walkerton and now resides at 507 Ohio Street. Weekend guests were Mrs. Myrtice Fowler, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nettles and Cindy and Mrs. Cheryl Green, all of Oxford, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pogodzinski and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman, North Liberty, called on Etta Mae Milner on Sunday afternoon at her new home on Linden Road, Box 20207, Argos. Her new phone number is 892-5039. She has a beautiful apartment with all her furniture and it is so homey. Before leaving, Mrs. Flora served freshly baked spice cake and coffee. Mrs. Milner would love to see and hear from her many friends. The last weekend in October Miss Catherine Hahn announced to her parents that she was taking them on a trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan, where Santa and his elves were busy making Christmas gifts. The town was filled with visitors and Santa told Mary he was planning on coming to Walkerton sometime in December. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bierly and daughters, of Detroit, Michigan, spent the weekend here visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly and other relatives.
