GROUP TO HEAR TERRY YAW Walkerton Women’s Aglow will meet Thursday, September 18, featuring Terry Yaw. This inspiring singer will share in song and testimony on the theme, "Loving Begins With Me". Terry and her husband. Bob, and two teenage children, operate a 600 acre grain farm in Southern Michigan. She has ministered in song and word throughout the midwest and has recorded an album, "Willing Heart". The meeting begins with refreshments and fellowship at 9:00 a.m. The worship and praise will begin at 9:30. The place is the Walkerton Community Building. LINCOLN TOWNSHIP HOMEMAKERS CLUB MEETS The Lincoln Township Homemakers Extension Club met at the Community Building, on Tucsdav, September 2, with 15 members present. Roll call was answered with who was your favorite teacher. The meeting opened with the salute to the flag and the repeating of the club creed. Alta Williams read the minutes which were approved. The collect was repeated and the business portion of the meeting was closed turning the rest of the afternoon over to the committee, Mrs. Wells and Nora Hahn. Bingo was played and delicious refreshments were served. The October committee will be Laura Malstaff and Mrs. Burnside. CLAY TOPPLES GLENN VOLLEYBALL TEAM The John Glenn girls volleyball team traveled to South Bend Cay last Thursday to open the 1986 season. The Gay girls came out on top 4-15, 15-10 and 15-13. For Glenn the most accurate server was Mindy Salyer, a perfect 15 of 15; Tammy Osborne had the most kills, 7; Mindy Salyer the most passes and she and Osborne tied for best passing average, 2.5. Ingrid Boise had the most sets with 41. Clay’s record moved to 1-3 with the victory. B-Team Wins The Glenn B-Team won over Clay by scores of 15-5 and 15-10. Angie Mlekodaj and Jan Trent each had a 100% serving average and four girls tied for most kills with 2, Tricia Kerckhove, Kim Huizenga. Julie Beem and Lyn Wallace. The best passing average was Becks Fair, 2.67 while Julie Beem and Tricia Kerckhove had the most sets, lb. BIRTHS Mark and Monica Krallman, of Huntington, formerly of Walkerton, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Brittanie Nichole, born on August 24. in the LaPorte Hospital. John EXERCISE CLASS TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 15 The Health and Lifestyle Center of Memorial Hospital announces the autumn schedule of exercise classes will begin Monday. September 15. at 7:(X) p.m., in the North Liberty School gym and on Wednesday, September 17. at 7:00 p.m., in the Walkerton Elementary School gym. Sue Klinedinst, a certified fitness instructor, will lead the onehour class in "Low Key Fitness Exercise". This class is a slow pace, exercise-to-music session that is designed for those who have not exercised for sometime. Em-

phasizing primarily flexibility and conditioning exercises, this class will assist women in regaining muscle tone, strength and a higher energy level. Relaxation and breathing techniques that are incorporated in the class held reduce stress and tension. This is a fun workout guaranteed to create a feeling of well being., These classes have no age restrictions and since no dance routine is taught one can join on any Monday or Wednesday night, it is however, recommended that if possible, students begin the first week of September 15 so as not to miss specific instructions of certain exercises. Participants are reminded to wear lose fitting or stretchy clothing and bring a pad or blanket for floor exercise. Two hand weights that are three pounds each will be used for one song. Potato Crook To Host Govornor’s Cup Raco Sat. Potato Creek State Park will host the eight of nine regional races in, the third annual AUL Governor's Cup Running Series on Saturday. September 20. at 10:00 a.m. Each regional race and the AUL Governor's Cup includes an 8-kilometer (4.9^) miles) race and a one mile fun fun.
