Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman entertained the following at a chicken barbecue dinner following the 4th of July parade, in North Liberty, on Friday. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stoneburner, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pogodzinski. Saturday dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dave Craft and family, of North Liberty. son and Mrs. Alma Daube. They all attended the LaPorte 4th of July parade where the float they had worked on won the Mayor’s trophy. They also attended the fireworks in Walkerton after the pot luck dinner. On Saturday they entered their float in the Michigan City parade where it won first place in the non-professional division. Suzanne Drews rode on the float both days. Sunday afternoon Louise Grenert accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman to Lake of the Woods where they attended a reunion at the home of Connie Ullery. Over 100 attended. Gladys Sheneman met two cousins she hadn’t seen for 60 years. A barbecue with all the fixings was served at 5:00 p.m. Most everyone enjoyed pontoon rides. Ms. Ullery was the guide on the American Dreams Tours that the Sheneman’s have enjoyed so much and they enjoyed seeing so many old friends. Entertainment was also provided. A reunion of family and friends was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert on the 4th of July and carried over to the Sth of July. House guests were Bee

A cookout was enjoyed along with croquet, water ball fights and visiting. Claude and Gladys Sheneman called at the Zehner home on Monday to see Merle, who returned home on Sunday from Memorial Hospital. He is improving and able to be up and around. A pot luck supper was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stull on the 4th of July for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stull and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stull and Kyle, Mrs. Vada Stull, Mr. Tony McMahon and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Foster and son, of Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Betz, of Naperville, Illinois; Mrs. Sarah Wolfe, of LaPorte; and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Betz, of Mesa, Arizona, were all here due to the death of Mrs. Cora Betz.
