ENJOY MOTHER-DAUGHTER BANQUET RECENTLY Pink carnations and candles on mirrors with pink streamers graced the tables at the Walkerton Elementary School cafeteria, where 165 mothers and daughters from the First Baptist Church gathered to have their spring banquet. The event was held on Friday, May 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Pink hand mirror shaped programs were given at the door by the hostesses Mrs. Peggy Snyder and Mrs. Judy Neidlinger. A bulletin board was attractively made in pink and white giving the theme which was “Reflections”. Mrs. Marilyn Van Dyne welcomed the group and introductions were made. Mrs. Neidlinger asked the blessing before a delicious salad supper was enjoyed.
Gina Barden narrated a skit reflecting the different phases of womanhood. Those participating were Mrs. Sarah Wilson as the mother; Lori Frame as the bride; Clarissa Mann as the distraught housewife; Karol Jackson and Kara Beth as as the young mother and baby; Robin and Kristi Flaugher as mother and school girl; Tammy Perry as a high school girl; Edie Fuller, in cap and gown as a graduate; and Ginny Casteel as a nurse reflecting the child from babyhood to occupation age. As the narration was done each came and stood beneath a white lattice arch trellis decorated with pink roses. Appropriate songs were sung for each phase of womanhood. Mrs. Van Dyne introduced her daughter, Mrs. Karen Craft, who brought a devotion on “Reflections”. She and her daughter, Amy, arc visiting from Madrid, Spain, where she and her husband are missionaries to the military. The group was led in singing “Precious Memories”. The lovely candles used as table decorations were then given as names were drawn. Also appropriate gifts were given to a teenager and a girl under 12. :■ Dr. Elliott Frash Optometrist l; 413 Michigan St., Walkerton ( 9:00 am. - 5:00 pm.
