Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman. Mrs. Esther Shultz and Mrs. Leon Przerazki. of Fort Wayne, recently spent some time in Chester. Missouri, where they attended the wedding of Laura Shultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Janice) Shultz, to Matthew Milliken, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Milliken, of Muncie. On Thursday evening they attended a shower given for Laura by Mrs. Sanda Nash. On Friday evening the rehearsal dinner was enjoyed and on Saturday was the outdoor wedding ceremony at 2:30 p.m., at Botanical Garden, in St. Louis, followed by a reception at Cherry Hill Country Club. The Mastermans. Mrs. Shultz and Mrs. Przerazki returned home on Sunday evening. It was a beautiful weekend. Dr. Judy C. Lambert, daughter of Mrs. Maurice Lambert and the late Mr. Lambert, of North Liberty. recently traveled to San Francisco. California, to present a research paper at the National meeting of the American Educational Research Association. Dr. Lambert is currently at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pogodzinski returned home after spending some time visiting their daughter, Gloria Risner, and family, in Palmerion, Pennsylvania. Also visiting with the Risners was Mr. Ernest Rosenkranz, of LaCrosse, to celebrate the 48th wedding anniversary of the Pogodzinskis. A lovely time was enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Mayotte Arseneau were in Valparaiso on Sunday to attend a birthday party given for Mrs. Arseneau's cousin. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet arrived home from Bradenton, Florida, after speding the winter there, returning on April 23. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Kickbush and family, of Duncan. Oklahoma, are spending this week in Walkerton visiting with relatives and friends. Mrs. Beth McCool, of North Liberty, and Mrs. Jean Cole, Walkerton, attended a state conference P.T.A. meeting, held in Evansville, last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Mrs. McCool is a state office holder and represented the John Glenn Schools. Mrs. Cole was a delegate from the South Bend con-
ference and also an officer of the Greene Township P.T.A. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Woodfill, of South Bend, were Sunday visitors with her aunt, Mrs. Helen Wright. Mr. and Mrs. James Patterson spent a week in Port Charloette, Florida, visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Patterson. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert arrived home on Wednesday evening after spending the winter at Lake Placid, Florida. Mrs. Vee Shogren and her sister, of Darian, Illinois, and two other ladies from Darian, went on a tour which took them 10 days through the southern part of California and also to Las Vegas In Vegas they spent a little time with Mrs. Raymond Lutomski, the former Marge Morrey, of Koontz Lake. Mrs. Lutomski likes living in the west and she is always happy to see the people from Koontz Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chapman arrived home last Monday from a few months stay in Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Patterson spent the past weekend in Muncie where their son is a student at Ball State University. Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Morganelli will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner on Saturday evening for all members and their guests. Come out and enjoy a good meal and an hour of fellowship. Mr. Charles (Red) Ogle, formerly of Fountainview Terrace nursing home, in LaPorte, has been moved to Miller’s Merry Manor nursing home, in Plymouth. He would enjoy hearing from his friends. Mrs. Bertha Miller, of South Bend, and Patty Markle, of North Liberty, were Sunday dinner guests of John and Virginia Markle. Mrs. Miller will be 93 years old on Mother’s Day. Mrs. George Kraus and son, Bill, of South Bend, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. Afternoon visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hoover and family, of LaPorte. Mr. Dave Mellin has been moved to Elkhart General Hospital. Mrs. Doug Baker is a surgical patient in the LaPorte Hospital. Mr. Agnew Ludwig remains in the Veteran’s Hospital, in Indianapolis. Schaeffer. BRIDAL SHOWER A bridal shower was given on Sunday, in Plymouth, at the home of Mrs. Cindy Savoie Catro, for Melanie Mullet, who will be married on May 31. Those attending from here included her mother, Mrs. Wilbur Mullet, Mrs. Myron Mullet, Mrs. Lori Jacob and daughter, Katie, and Mrs. Leo Savoie. GRADUATES Joe Harness graduated from Bethel College, Mishawaka, on Saturday, May 3. He was unable to attend his graduation, but attended the NCAA National Baseball Tournament, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bethel won the tourney out of eight entries and Joe scored the winning run for the tourney victory. COLORING CONTEST WINNERS Ray’s Super Valu, Walkerton, recently held a coloring contest for the area youngsters and the winners, who each received a ribbon, are as follows: Two year olds: first to Charles Elder; and second, Joseph Wardman. CHARLES DOBIS RECEIVES AWARD FROM HOOK’S Local Hook’s Drug Store manager, Charles Dobis, was recognized at a special awards banquet in Indianapolis, on April 23, with the firm's Golden Key Award. To earn the prestigious Golden Key Award the store must have demonstrated year-'round performance in the areas of accounting, merchandising, operations, personnel and public relations. Only 87 stores in the chain were so recognized this year. The manager and assistant manager of each winning store reeceive an extra week’s vacation as a bonus for this achievement. Hook’s operates over 325 drug stores and 21 Convalescent Aids Centers in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee. This corporation employs nearly 5,000 persons, over 800 of whom are registered pharmacists. Hook’s became a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co. in May 1985'. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Jeff (Kay) Laßere are the proud parents of a baby boy born on May 3, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He has been named Nicholas Jordan and he has a brother at home, Kyle Allen. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Liggett, North Liberty; paternal grandparents are Ruth Lamb, LaPorte, and Richard Laßere, Walkerton; and paternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Francis Laßere, Walkerton. A son, Jameson Matthew, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gerry (Deborah) Brown, of North Liberty, on April 15, at 12:12 a.m. Jameson’s birth weight was seven pounds and 13 ounces and he was 20 inches in lenght. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William (Betty) Brown, of LaPaz, and Mrs. Ralph (Bonnie) Sullivan, of North Liberty. Mrs. Manford (Helen) Bouse, of Walkerton, is Jameson’s proud great-grandmother. Wrist watches were first made in the 1790 s.
