Kim Taylor, left, an eighth grade student at Urey Middle School, recently won second place in the state Reflection’s Contest. Kim’s entry was in the Photography division. Her work has been selected to advance to national competition, which will be held in Chicago in April. Kim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Taylor. Renee Spaid, right, an eighth grader at Urey, won third place in the Visual Arts division at the state level. She is the daughtter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Spaid. the child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 1986, and 6 years of age or or before September 1 to enter first grade. During Roundup, parents will be signing up for a 15 minute appointment on either April 25 or 29 for a readiness screening of their child while the parent meets the nurse to review immunization. Be sure to bring your child’s legal (not hospital) birth certificate, which can be obtained at the Health Department m the county in which the child was born, and also immuization records when you come in at your appointed time. Health forms will be handed out for the parents to have completed by family doctor and dentist. Indiana law requires all elementary children to be immunized against diptheria, whooping cough, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella and poliomyelitis. The morning registration will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 23. The regular morning kindergarten class will not meet this day. A decision will be made on the class content and you will be contacted. Remember, the classes begin April 8. Wednesdays — 3:30 ■ 5:30 p.m., Electronic spreadsheets. This class will focus on the needs of teachers, but will be appropriate for all adults. There are a few openings still available in this class also. This class begins April 9. Classes will be held in room 109 at the Oregon-Davis High School. The fee is $30.00 per person and may be paid by check (payee: Ore-gon-Davis High School) at the school office or in the first class session. All classes run for six weeks. These classes are an excellent way to introduce yourself to the world of computers or to enhance your present knowledge of the power of computers.
