Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schaeffer were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Paschen and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Brecht and Brenda and Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Bussie and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. James Capek spent a few days the first of the week in Wheaton. Illinois, visiting with their daughter and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Todd Beyerl, and new baby, Laine. Mrs. Alma Daube and her sister, Mrs. Hattie Bowers, of LaPorte, returned on Saturday from a week vacation spend at Grand Forks, North Dakota, where they visited with Mrs. Bowers son and family. They also visited with a cousin at Valley City, North Dakota while they were gone. On Saturday evening the birthdays of Mrs. Herald Hostetler, Walkerton, and Mrs. Paul Swihart, Plymouth, were celebrated with a dinner at Jenny’s Restaurant, South Bend. Those helping in the celebration were Mr. Herald Hostetler. Mrs. Paul Swihart. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn. Mrs. Goldie Skinner and Mrs. Viola Barden.

Word has been received of the marriage of the former Marge Morrey, of Koontz Lake, on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., in Christ the King Catholic Church, in Las Vegas, to Mr. Ray Lutomski. She was given in marriage by her grandson, James Apt, of Ventura, California. Attended the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dammann, of Cajon, California. The Dammanns and the Lutomskis were former Grovertown residents. Mr. and Mrs. John Wells went to the Kankakee Game Reserve on Saturday to see the huge flocks of Canadian geese and ducks that gather there before they travel on farther north. This is a sight to behold and since the geese are on their way back north it surely means that spring is about to arrive. Hostesses for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club meeting on Saturday night will be Harriett Jeffery and Loraine Pozniak. This meeting is for all members and their guests. The birthday of Mrs. Ada Miller was celebrated on Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mis. Alvin Conner, Mulberry, Indiana. Other guests present were Mrs. Ruth Eastlund, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burroughs, Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Barden and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles, Walkerton. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Masterman. Tammie Masterman. Mark Doll, Terry Masterman and Gayle Warner and daughter, all of Plymouth. Rev. John Goodpasture returned home last week after spending a couple of months with his daughter, Alice Ann Griffith, in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Keeling spent Sunday afternoon in Elkhart visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Steele. On Wednesday of last week, Miss Ethel Bierly attended a Starke County Retired Teachers meeting in Knox. On Saturday she had surprise visitors from Lucerne, Indiana, being Mr. and Mrs. Robert Canada. The regular monthly meeting of the Koontz Lake Conservation Club will be held on Friday evening, March 21. at 7:00 p.m. C.S.T. All members are invited to attend and join in the decisions of the club. Monday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schaeffer were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ryan, of Minneapolis. Minnesota, and Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Schaeffer and infant daughter. Samantha Jayne. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman were guests of Mrs. Aleda Heckeman. in Nappanee, on Tuesday of last week. OREGON TOWNSHIP HOMEMAKERS MEET The Oregon Township Homemakers met on Tuesday, March 11. at the Koontz Lake Conservation clubhouse with 15 members present.
