Walkerton Cub Scout Pack 293 held their annual Blue and Gold Banquet on February 27, at 6:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, in Tyner. Special guests were members of our chartered organization, the Walkerton Lions Club. Lions members present included the District Governor, Bill Blankenship; secretary, Bob Anderson; local Lions president, Joe Lowry; Don King, Carl Christensen and Dr. Rodger Smith. Making plans for the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt, in North Liberty, to be held on Saturday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m., are Walt Lowry, Robert Futa, L. D. Clark and Richard Scott. The affair is being sponsored jointly by the American Legion Post 365 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1954, North Liberty. The hunt will be held at ENGAGED HA MS IKa Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kaser, 120 Shamrock Street, Walkerton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelly Lynn, to Robert Allyn Mayflower, son of Rev and Chester Mayflower, 626 High Street. The Scouts presented their mothers awards for their help in their achievements, with mother’s pins to each of the scouts rank. A cake with 76 candles was on hand in celebration of the 76 year of the scouting spirit. The next pack meeting will be on March 20, at 7:00 p.m. in Tyner.
