Walkerton’s fifth grade basketbail team finished the season Thursday with a 28-10 victory over the Triton Trojans. The victory clinched a perfect season for the Wildcats who surprised coach Huffman with a 13-0 record. Included in the record were two tournament championships, one at North Liberty and the other at LaVille. The Wildcats scoring leaders were Aaron Casteel 104. Jimmv Vail. 33. Bruce Brown 31. Greg Vitali 30. Toby Gardner 26. Jay Cotton 22 and Brian Perry 21. Perry had the best free throw percentage of .833 and Casteel the best field goal percentage at .411. Top rebounders were Gardner, Casteel and Brown. Casteel, Brown and Vitali registered the most steals. Congratulations to the Walkerton fifth grade. Danny Mosley, son of Laura Mosley, celebrated his second birthday at a party at the home of his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Al Louderback. Danny enjoyed his party and received many nice gifts. Relatives and friends were there from South Bend, Walkerton and Plymouth. The 21st birthday of Dan Patterson was celebrated on Sunday with a dinner given in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Divine. A dinner given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Kujawski’s first wedding anniversary was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey, Monique, Mashelle and Wes on Sunday. Mr. Rodney Keeling, of Hanna, is now home recuperating from a freak accident in which a tree limb fell on his head causing a concussion. Mrs. Esther Kaufman and Mrs. Alma Daube attended the S & E Alumni which was held in the Farm Bureau building in LaPorte, last Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts were Thursday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Roush and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Barden and family and Mrs. Viola Barden spent the weenend in Sears, Michigan, with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Barden and family.
