The win boosted the Triton girls to a perfect 3-0 conference mark and 7-3 overall. Glenn slipped to 3-6 on the season and 1-2 in NSC play.
Julie Lozier was the big gun for the visitors from Bourbon. She spearheaded the Triton attack all through the game until the later stages when the play was turned over to the reserves by the Triton coach. Her seven point first quarter matched Glenn’s effort as the visitors jumped to a 12-7 first quarter lead. Angie McKesson had five and Theresa Northam two for Glenn in this period. In the second quarter, Lozier outscored the Glenn effort 8-7, giving her 15 at halftime as the Trojans stretched their lead to 27-14. The matter was easily settled in the third period if the Lady Falcons had any chance of coming back in the second half. Lozier pumped in five baskets and a pair of free throws and after three she was still ahead of the Glenn team 26-24 with Triton now leading by a big 21 point margin, 45-24. Most of the final stanza for Triton found the reserves getting some playing time as they coasted to the 53-37 victory. Lozier ended the night with 28 points but had scoring help from seven other girls. Glenn was led by McKesson with 13 and Northam added 12, eight of those coming in the last quarter. The stats for the game were more even than the score as neither team shot very well and the rebounds were close. However, the free throw opportunities Glenn gave Triton made a big difference as both teams had 16 baskets but Triton connected on 21 out of 28 from the line to Glenn’s five out of 8. B-Team Wlm First The Glenn B-Team won their first game of the season taking a thrilling 27-25 victory from the Triton reserves. For Glenn they are now I -8 while Triton is 1 -7.
