Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith and family, of Mishawaka, and Miss Ethel Bierly were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Smith on Sunday for their Christmas family celebration. In the evening 30 carolers from Tracy Methodist United Methodist Church came to sing carols to Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bierly and family, of Troy, Michigan, came on Sunday evening for the Christmas holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Shortt and daugher, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, who is in the U. S. Navy and was stationed in California for four months, arrived at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Huffstetter, on December 12, on their way home to Virginia. They were stranded in Colorado for a couple of days in a snowstorm. They will spend Christmas here in Walkerton. On Sunday, Mr. Mickey Huffstetter, of Tupelo, Michigan, was also a guest. Mr. and Mrs. Charles McLean held their family Christmas gathering on Sunday with Mr. Rex. Boone and family, of New Carlisle; Mr.

Jerry Boone and family, of Walkerton; Mr. and Mrs. Forest Boone. Walkerton; Mrs. Clara Rupel, Mishawaka; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boone, Edwardsburg. Michigan; Miss Jodi Boone and friend, of LaPorte; and Mr. John Boone, New Carlisle, present. A gift exchange was held and enjoyed and the group attended the Community Choir concert at the high school in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles will entertain for dinner on Christmas eve, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beagles and Scott; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson; Mrs. Ada Miller; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Beagles and son. North Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hellinga and Tamara, Middlebury; Julie Merrick, Goshen; and Tom Hellinga. Plymouth. On Christmas Day Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles and Mrs. Ada Miller will be guests of the Roger Hellinga, in Middlebury. Major and Mrs. Kenneth Dixon and son, Alex, were here to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dixon, and other family members from Sunday, December 15 to Friday. December 20. While home they celebrated Kenneth’s birthday with his two sisters also present. Gayle Liggett, who recently returned to Indiana University to complete her degree in elementary education, received a grade point average of 3.75 and is listed on the Dean's List.
