Glenn Girls Rally In Second Hilf To Top Cougars A strong second half last Wednesday evening found the John Glenn girls basketball team coming back from a slow first 16 minutes to win their first Northern State Conference game of the season. The Lady Falcons topped the New Prairie girls 41-39 in an exciting game that boosted Glenn's record to 3-4 on the season and evened their conference mark at 1-1 before the long Christmas break that will find them returning to action on January 8. It was the consistent three some of Angie McKesson, Theresa Northam and Jennifer Price that paced the Lady Falcons once again and these three seniors had some scoring help from the younger members of the team to account for the win. In the first quarter it was New Paririe 13 and McKesson 6, as Angie had all the Glenn points as the visitors pulled away to an early lead. In the second quarter, no less than four girls split Glenn’s 13 points as they battled to stay in the game and at the main intermission trailed by six 25-19. Price scored six in this quarter to pace the attack.

Then in the second half, it was better all round play that found the Lady Falcons catching up with their visitors. After being held scoreless in the second quarter, McKesson came back with five in the third period as well as the final stanza to pace the scorers. Glenn managed to take a slim 30-29 lead after three, holding the Cougars to just two baskets by Mollie Moody as the game tightened up for the exciting last quarter. It turned out to be mainly a battle of free throws with the Falcons managing only two baskets but seven of 15 from the charity line to hold on for the two point win. The Cougars went to the line nine times in this last quarter, able only to make four, and the end result was the 41-39 win for coach Barb Osowski's team. McKesson led all scorers with 17 points on six baskets and five of nine from the line.’ Northam had 10 points on two field goals on a cold shooting night for her and managed to connect on six of nine from the line. Price, who had only the six points she got in the first quarter, led the rebounding with 10 boards and Northam passed out four assists in this game that found each team only manking 13 baskets as cool shooting still is the main problem of the Falcon team this year. Danielle Wykoff and Moody hit double digits for the losers with
11 and 10 respectively. Box Score Glean fg ft fta p .
