Santa Coming To Potato Creek This Weekend Santa Claus will be coming to Potato Creek State Park on Friday. Saturday and Sunday. December 20. 21 and 22. His hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday; 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday; and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of this busy season of the year to visit Santa at the Nature Center at the park. Refreshments will be provided. Also on Saturday . December 21. at 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.. at the Nature Center. Christmas For The Birds will be the special activity. Park personnel will be busy making bird feeders from materials found around the house. On Sunday. December 22. from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.. a Natural Christmas is the theme for the making of seasonal decorations from nature's abundant supply of materials at the Nature Center. K. L. CONSERVATION CLUB TO MEET FRIDAY EVENING The monthly business meeting of the Koontz Lake Conservation Club will be held on Friday evening. December 20. at the clubhouse, at 7:00 p.m. C.S.T. State Announces Change Os Vehicle Registration Times At the request of Governor Bob Orr, Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Michael M. Packard announced on November 25 that the Bureau's decision to extend Indiana's vehicle registration period from six months to ten months. The new system will take effect in 1986. The decision is the first of a series of steps designed to improve public service at the state’s license branches. These improvements are a part of the governor's overall program for license branch reforms which he expects will be enacted during the upcoming session of the General Assembly. “We sec this as a reform which will benefit the public. lines," Packard said The BMV was given the authority to extend the registration by Public Law 118 of the 1983 session of the General Assembly. While the new schedule takes effect in 1986. the expiration date of the current registrations will not change. Registrations issued in 1986 will reflect the new schedule. “The change to a 10-month distribution schedule will result in no additional costs to the motorist." Packard added. The new distribution schedule is as follows: Those with a current expiration date of January w ill not change.
