Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Persinger, 201 Clarke Blvd., Walkerton, will be observing their 60th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day. November 28. Ralph and Velma Hill were married on November 28, 1925. in Lawrenceville, Illinois. They moved from Olney, Illinois, in September of 1943 to Walkerton and have lived in this community for 42 years. They have three children. Joann Persinger, of South Bend; Gordon Eugene Persinger, of LaPorte; and Johnnie Collene Pearish. Rural Route 4. Walkerton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchild-ren. The seventh graders pulled short of a victory, 38-36, in a nail biter. John Johnson scored nine points while Rick O’Connor and John Bryan each scored seven. Jimmy Seiders and Kevin Winger contributed six points each. Johnson led both teams in rebounds with 14; Seiders grabbed down six. The boys played very well. In the eighth grade game, the boys displayed true team effort and were extremely intense throughout the entire game. The boys fell to a very good basketball team, 52-33. Randy Pontius scored nine points; Steve Rhodes had eight; Chris Stull added six while Jerry Beem and Chad Strang both scored five points. Pontius reached for eight rebounds; Beem grabbed six. “You should be proud of your hard work", coach Fleming is!
