ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION A HEARING WAS HELD ON November 11, 1985 with the taxpayers of the Town of Walkerton, St. Joseph County at the Town Hall, 510 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, Indiana. The purpose of the hearing was to establish appropriated money in the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund. Federal Revenue Sharing Fund Supplies Police Department $5,662.67 Ambulance Department 3,260.00 Capital Expense Fire Department 11.189.00 TOTAL $20,111.67 Taxpayers appearing on November 11, 1985 shall have a right to be heard thereon. A second hearing will be listed on November 25 at <OO p.m. in the Town Hall and at such time the Walkerton Town Board will pass on the appropriation. Additional Appropriations as finally made will be automatically referred to the State Board of Tax Commissioners, which the Board will hold a further hearing within fifteen days at the County Auditor's Office of St. Joseph County, Indiana, or at such other place as may be designated. ELECT OFFICERS - Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) Branch 4835 held its annual election meeting November 9 at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Liberty. Elected as 1986 branch officers were Claude McEndarfer. president; Dale Seese, vice president; and Bev Shockey, secretarytreasurer. Charles Kring was welcomed as a newcomer. Dale Seese reported on the AAL Indiana-Kentucky Federation Convention held in October at South Bead's Century Center. The branch voted to apply for a grant from AAL's home office to do a small work project to benefit St. John’s. Members plan to purchase and install a folding door in the church's basement fellowship hall to keep w arm air from escaping up the stairway. A filmstrip explaining what AAL branches are and can do was shown by Lewis Haug, AAL District Representative. An interest survey was then taken to help plan activities for Branch 4835. The branch's next meeting will be Saturday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Roy and Mary Reamschnyder, 19201 Strawberry Hill Road. South Bend. WOMEN TOGETHER TO MEET The November meeting of the Women Together will be held on Thursday, November 21, at 9:30 a.m., at the Walkerton Community Building. This month we are happy to have Gerri Smith, who was raised in the Michigan City area, and has been studying the Bible with emphasis on "Women Os The Bible" for many years. She will minister to the group and portray one of these women at the meeting. Gerri graduated from Elston High School and afterwards took some college training. Combining this education with her love for the Lord led her to starting the "Word Os Truth" Christian Book Store, in Michigan City. She is married to Philip Smith for 31 years and has a duaghter, Beth, and two grandchildren. Everyone is welcome and urged to attend this meeting. There is free babysitting provided. Bring a friend.

HOPE CIRCLE MEETS The Hope Circle of the United Methodist Church met on Monday afternoon, November 11, in the home of Mrs. Basil Curl with 11 members present. Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn gave the prayer before the delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. John Wathen, chairman, led the business meeting. She gave the reading "Peace And Calm In The 23rd Psalms" followed by all saying the 23rd Psalms. Many thank you notes were received by the group from the fruit ptimpkin bowl receivers.
