Mr. and Mrs. Osborn Fisher, 64757 Sycamore Road, North Liberty, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, at the North ; Liberty United Methodist Church. The couple requests no gifts. Fisher and the former Leia CarI roll were married October 25, 1935, in LaPorte. He retired from Allis Chalmers 12 years ago after 45 years of service. They have three sons, Thomas E. and Joseph W., of North Liberty, and James E., of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 192 men and women observing a quarter of a century of service with the company and its customers. Locally those honored included I Raymond Neidlinger, Ralph Pearish, Edward Rhodes and John Simpson. The annual 25 year Service Awards dinner was held on Tuesday, October 15, in Schererville.

JOHN JOHNSON HONORED BY NATIONAL GUARD Ist Sgt. John K. Johnson was honored on October 9 by the Indiana Army National Guard for having the highest retention rate of all of the units in the 2nd Brigade which cover the northern part of the state. Johnson resides in Walkerton and is a contractor. He has been with the Guard for over 20 years. He has been with Charlie Company 2nd Battalion 151st Infantry of the 38th Infantry Division, Indianapolis, as the First Sgt. since July, 1980. The award was presented by Major Hart, Brigade Training Officer in Kokomo. GLENN GIRLS TOP JIMTOWN IN VOLLEYBALL The Glenn girls volleyball team traveled to Jimtown on Monday evening for their final Northern State Conference match and topped the Jimmies by scores of 15-13, 13-15 and 15-12. This ended con-

ference play with a 4-2 record and the Lady Falcons are 12-8 overall. Jimtown is 3-15 and 2-4 this season. For Glenn Angie McKesson and Intrid Boise were perfect in serving accuracy with 18 out of 18 and 9 of 9 For Glenn Angie McKesson, Theresa Northam and Ingrid Boise were 100 percent accurate on serving with 18 out of 18, 17 of 17 and 9of 9 respectively. Northam and Jennifer Price had 8 kills each and Price had 21 passes. Shawnda Clemons and McKesson had 3.0 passing averages and McKesson had 39 sets. The Glenn B-Team topped Jimtown 15-5 and 15-0. Five girls, Dawn Rhodes, Bobbi Kaser, Rachelle Fisher, Michelle Mlekodaj and Lori Cooper were perfect in serving accuracy with Rhodes leading the way with 19 out of 19. Tammy Rupel had 2 kills, Fisher and Kim Huizenga had 2.0 passsing averages and Becky Fair had 5 sets. Glenn inproved their season record to 11-5 while Jimtown is winless in 13 outings. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barko, Evanston, Illinois, and summer residents of Walkerton, are the proud parents of a son born on Wednesday, October 9, at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. He weighed nine pounds and eight ounces and was 20‘/j inches long. He has been named Charles Martin. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Turner, Franklin, Indiana, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barko, Chicago, Illinois. A son was born to April and Roger Scott Piotrowicz, 311 Hickory, Walkerton, on Monday, October 21, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He weighed in at seven pounds and three ounces and has been named Adam Scott. The
