erton. The occasion was the birthday celebration of Mrs. Mary Shirk's birthday and she is a sister of Mr. Kerchaert and a former Walkerton resident. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Gwin returned last Wednesday evening from a 1,500 mile trip through the Ozarks. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Klinedinst spent Thursday at Brown County State Park and Nashville, Indiana and then they went to Bloomington to visit with their granddaughter, Sherry Klinedinst, and took her out for dinner. Wakarusa, were Mr. David Yoder and Jessica, of Elkhart, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin and Mrs. Bertha Urbin. This was the third birthday of Jessica Yoder. Early on Sunday morning, Mrs. David Yoder gave birth to a baby girl, in Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Klinedinst visited Fred Aker on Sunday, at Countryside Place, in Mishawaka. Dorothy Walsh is in Fountainview Nursing Home, 19th and Andrew, LaPorte, Ind 46350. She would appreciate hearing from her friends. Mrs. Don (Elsie) Nicholas, Walkerton, is a patient in the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend. Freda Meyers and Mary Jane Beaty were among those persons taking the bus tour sponsored by the Southlawn United Methodist Church, last Thursday, to Brown County State Park. The buses left at 6:30 a.m. with a stop for breakfast at Bob Evans Restaurant, in Kokomo and on the return trip at Laughlin's Caferia. Much time was spent in Nashville touring the many shops but the highlight of the trip was the tour through the park in the late afternoon with the sun shining on the foliage making picture taking very nice. Recent rains had decreased the beauty of the leaves but many say that at Potato Creek Park it is still beautiful and can be visited right here close to home.

Mr. and Mrs. John Mantousek spent last week in Chicago visiting with her aunt, Mrs. Grace Reinhard. Mrs. Vada Stull was a Thursday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Foster and family, in Plymouth. Mrs. Bess Ferverda and Lee Chapman are both patients in the LaPorte Hospital and both are reported making rapid improvement. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery were in Valparaiso on Sunday to spend the day with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Wisler. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pogodzinski were in LaCrosse on Sunday at the home of her niece, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Clouse. This was a birthday celebration for Mr. Pogodzinski and Mr. and Mrs. Clouse, with the birthdays on the 19th and 20th of October. Mrs. Vada Stull entertained on Sunday for her mother’s birthday. Mrs. Nellie Smith. Other honored guests were Daniel Foster and Paul Stull, Plymouth; and Kelly Stull, Walkerton, all having birthdays too. Dinner guests and evening callers were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stull and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Foster and family. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Michael Zlatos, formerly of Walkerton, is an assistant director of Rhoads Hall, at Indiana State University. The assistant aids in the hall organize activities and

functions and include hiring and supervision of the reception desk staff and the planning of at least one educational program each semester. Zlatos is a graduate student, son of Mrs. Hope Zlatos. PLEDGES Katherine Hershberger, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. R. Hershberger, Walkerton, has pledged Alpha Gamma Delta social sorority, at DePauw University, Greencastle, where she is a sophomore.
