germ commonly known as "Hib". Hib diseases affect about one child in 200 before the age of 5 years. Hib diseases, which include spinal meningitis, are serious. Many result in hospitalization, and up to 10% can be fatal. In clinical studies, Hib vaccine was 90% effective in 2 to 6 year old children. The United States Public Health Service recommends this new vaccine for all children once they have reached 24 months of age. Because of their increased risk, children 18-23 months old who attend day care should also be considered for vaccination, although the vaccine is less likely to be as effective in this age group. Please call for your child’s appointment or more information. To schedule a time, please call 5863114 or stop by at our office at 506
