Traffic Violation: Ihe superintendent reported that recently school bus number 1 was illegally passed bv a vehicle traveling on highway 6. Due to the quick thinking of bus driver Connie Marek and the actions of the students who got the license plate, this violation has been reported to the Marshall County Police and a citation has been issued. The violator may pay a direct fine or contest the citation in court. A second [violation would lead to more serious action by the police. 2. Public Input Meetings: The [superintendent reminded all parities that the Corporation Public [input Meetings on Long-Range [Planning will be held Thursday, October 10, 7:30 p.m. at North [Liberty School and Tuesday, October 22. 7:30 p.m. at Urey Middle School. All interested persons of the School Corporation are encouraged to attend and participate in providing information to the Board on the many important decisions to be made based upon the longrange planning report. 3. Talented Program. NEXT MEETING DATE: The Board will meet in regular session on October 29, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. in the library of North Liberty School. The regular second meeting for October has been cancelled due to the schedule of the superintendent and the public input meetings. The October 29 meeting will replace the regularly scheduled first meeting in November due to the high school Athletics Award Banquet to be held on Novembers, 1985. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Board, following a motion by Mr. Peddycord, seconded by Mrs. Manuel, the Board voted six to zero to adjourn at 9:10 p.m. TO HOLD BENEFIT SPAGHETTI SUPPER The community is invited to a Spaghetti Supper to benefit the resettlement of refugee families locally. The supper is Friday evening, October 25, between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church on the corner of Riley and Pine Roads. The menu includes spaghetti, garlic bread or toast, salad, dessert and drink. The donation is $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for children under 11, per plate. Apply For Project SAFE In Starke County Starke County Council on Aging is now taking applications for persons aged 60 and over for Project SAFE, a State program to assist low income households with the high cost of home energy. For persons aged under sixty, applications will begin sometime in November. Watch the newspaper for the starting date. In previous years, the State SAFE office has sent applications through the mail. This is not the case this year, however. All persons aged sixty and over must go to their electric company or come to the Starke County Council on Aging office to complete the application. Applicants will need proof of income (copy of check, award letter, pay stubs, interest statement from the bank, etc.), the Social Security number for everyone over the age of 18 living in the household, plus a copy of their current heating and electrical bill. If you are renting non-subsidized housing, bring a copy of your current lease. If a member of your household is over the age of 18 and has had no income during the past 12 months, they must complete and sign an affidavit. The forms are available at the Council on Aging office. Income guidelines for eligibility for the Project SAFE program are:

Reynolds, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Walkerton. Rev.
