offenses. The problem with the in-school suspension plan has been the limited space in the office area, and the availability of staff to supervise the offending students. Detentions will be assigned by the principal or the assistant principal 24 hours in advance of time to be served so parents can be notified and plans made. Detention will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, depending on the date of the infraction. In other
words, if you are tardy on Tuesday, you would serve on Wednesday. Students will report at 3:20 to the study hall room with study materials and will remain until 4:20. They are expected to remain quiet, use the time productively, and follow a designated code of conduct. Failure to do so will result in more serious provisions. Students must learn to be accountable for their own actions and suffer consequences when they fail to do so. In-school suspensions will still be ' used but for offenses of a more serious nature. If you have any questions regarding the above policy, please call John Glenn High School, 5863195.
