Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman returned home on Saturday evening after having spent the past two weeks with their son, Dennis and family, in Denver, Colorado. They traveled by Amtrak and loved it. They visited Estes Park, the lovely new Chart House Restaurant in Golden, attended a poodle dog show, the greyhound dog racing show at the Mile High Kennel Club, in Denver, visited the Straight Johnson Nite Club owned and operated by Dennis and also enjoyed dinner one evening at the lovely Mexican Cassinatta Restaurant where there was so much to see and do. They enjoyed Sunday dinner at the Organ Grinder Restaurant which was really a beautiful place to see and then that evening they were all dinner guests of Mrs. Clinton and Sharon Ryerson and family. All in all they had a wonderful two weeks but were really glad when they arrived back home in good old North Liberty. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Sr., and Mrs. Goldie Skinner were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Jr. and family, at English Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet spent the past week in O’Fallen, Illinois, with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Nesbitt and family, helping them move into their new home. Eleanor N. Harness, Grovertown, is one of the more than 2,000 delegates attending the 82nd annual National Convention of the National League of Postmasters, in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1904, the League of Postmasters is the oldest organization representing Postmasters in the nation. Donna Klopfenstein, of Las Vegas, has been visiting here with her mother, Mrs. Polly Klopfenstein, this past week. Mrs. David Yoder and Jessica, of Elkhart, were in Walkerton on Monday visiting with Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin. There will be no meeting of the Koontz Lake Conservation Club on Saturday evening due to the Labor Day Holiday. Miss Elizabeth Fenstermacher will enter Taylor University, at Upland, Indiana, on September 6. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilson returned home last weekend from a trip to Pennsylvania where they visited with relatives and friends. They attended the Methodist Church picnic at Confluence, which is an annual affair and has been held for the past 175 years at the same place. In Greensburg they attended the Wilson family reunion. By being able to attend both of these functions they were able to see and visit with many relatives and friends that they have not seen for some time and they hope to be able to attend next year. Mrs. Nora Hahn and Mrs. Vada Stull spent four days in Marcellus, Michigan, last week with Mrs. Leota Weakly and Todd at their cottage on the lake. Jean Catelani, of Petalina, California, left on Monday of this week, for her home after spending a month here with her mother, Mrs. Faye Jones and Loren. She also visited with many friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones and family, of Wyoming, Michigan, spent the past weekend here. On Sunday other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jones and family, of Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Duthie, of Florida, are here spending a couple of months in Indiana and Michigan with their son and family, and in Chesterton, with their daughter
and family, and at Koontz Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smiley ^hile visiting with friends in the Walkerton area. Last Friday afternoon and evening they were guests of Mrs. Bertha Urbin along with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Crane. Paul and Elaine Knowlton were hosts for a summer party on August 22 at their home with the following guests attending. ENJOY PICNIC The Resident’s Council at Miller’s Merry Manor sponsored their annual summer picnic for family and friends last Saturday, August 24. Over 300 people attended the picnic on a day that threatened rain but the weather held off and every - one seemed to have a good time. Large tents were set up in the front area of the nursing home just in case of rain or lots of hot sun. The menu served was selected by the residents and they invited their families and friends to be

their guests at this annual affair. Hamburgers and hot dogs were cooked on the grills and served with baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, relishes and ice cream. The monthly birthday party was held after the luncheon was served. Entertainment was provided by the Marshall County Home Extension Chorus. The group is from the Plymouth area and provided the residents and guests with a very intertaining and delightful musical program. Miller's would like to express their thanks to the residents, their families and the volunteers who helped make the picnic a success and an enjoyable day for everyone. STICKLER FAMILY REUNION The Stickler family reunion was held on August 25, at the Johnson Township Community Building with 73 coming from Michigan, Knox. Fort Wayne, Elkhart. Goshen and Walkerton. The youngest present was Sarah Elizabeth Kersey and the eldest was Henry Rough, who will be 92 in October. Also present were Sam Barden of Arizona, and Betty Barden, daughter and family, of Michigan. Re-elected was Lloyd C. Barden, president; Floyd Dipert, vice-presi-dent; Gayla Dipert, secretarytreasurer. A wonderful pot luck dinner was served. A white elephant sale was held and enjoyed by all. On Sunday, September 1, Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Smith will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Walkerton United Methodist Church, Georgia Street, Walkerton, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The open house will be hosted by their children, Mrs. Grace Nome, Margate, Florida; Mrs. Sherrill Kickbush, and Mrs. Ann Miller, both of Walkerton; and W. Michael Smith, Plymouth; and James Wood, Argos. Walter M. Smith and Mildred R. Nash were united in marriage on September I, 1935, at the Walker-
