LINCOLN TOWNSHIP HOMEMAKERS MEET The Lincoln Township Homemakers Extension Club met on Tuesday. August 6, at 12:00 noon, with a pot luck luncheon. The .Johnson Township club members were guests and a special guest ; was Miss Beth Eckert, of Bremen .and Purdue University, who came to visit our club to see if she wanted | to be a home ec leader or a 4-H i leader. She had some clubs to visit ias part of her education. Mrs. Rose Minter was also a guest. Following the meal the business , session was held followed by a I white elephant sale with Martha Mull as the auctioneer. There were lots of things of interest on the sale table.

Hazel Arseneau and Dorothy Knowlton were hostesses and with the help of the club it was a very nice party. Lois Sherland was the pianist and the song of the month “In The Good Old Summertime’’ and “America" were sung. Happy birthday was sung to Ethel Fields and Alta Williams. The new club books will be handed out next month and the committee will be notified. Hazel Ward read Ethel Fields’ funny story and Regina Wells gave her cultural arts report on the origin of jello. Martha Mull read two readings entitled “Who Me?" and "Grandmas". The club closed by repeating the club prayer. Drinking and Driving Don’t Mix
ELEANOR HARNESS SCORES HOLE IN ONE Eleanor Harncrss. Grovertown, hit a career-first hole in one Monday, August 5, at the Beechwwd Golf Course, LaPorte. She got her ace on the 140 yard, par three 15th hole using a five wood. Other members of her foursome included her husband, Greasy, and Tom and Iris Brown, of Hamlet. HOSTETLER FAMILY REUNION The annual Hostetler Family reunion was held on Sunday at Stuntz-Hochstetler Pines, with 80 attending. This was the 33rd reunion for the family. Youngest present was Mashelle Hostetler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hostetler and the oldest was Mrs. Goldie Skinner. Coming the farthest was an exchange student from Bolivia, South American, who is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kattau, of New York. Others came from Valparaiso, Union Mills, North Liberty, Walkerton, Milford, Plymouth, Lafayette and LaPorte.
