Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Johnson, of Koontz Lake, were in Terre Haute for a family reunion last weekend. Mr and Mrs. Donald Fox. of Cort h age. New York, were here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Crane, last week. Jean Catelani. of Pataluma. California. is here visiting with her mother. Mrs. Faye Jones, for a couple of weeks. Mrs. Mickey Hunt, of Beaver Dam. Wisconsin, arrived on Thursdav for a couple of days visit with friends in the Walkerton area.

While here she was the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eddinger. On Saturday she went to LaPorte to visit with her sister that is in ill health and to visit with another sister in Michigan City. Mickey says that she is happy in Beaver Dam and really likes Wisconsin. On August 6. Miss Mildred McKesson traveled to Sheridan Healthcare Center, where she had a delightful visit with Mrs. Jeanette Guttman. Mrs. Guttman
sends greetings to her many friends here and welcomes them to visit her. Mrs. Leonard Beaty returned last week from a three week vacation in New Mexico and Oklahoma. She attended the Beaty reunion in Sante Fe, then accompanied a daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Freeland, to Las Cruces for a week. While there she visited Mrs. Opal Beaty, who was unable to attend the reunion. The Freelands and Mrs. Beaty then drove to Norman. Oklahoma, to visit with Mrs. Mildred Freeman. The Freelands did a lot of yard work and repair jobs for her while Mary Jane enjoyed peeling apples and peaches from trees in her sister’s back yard. She was rewarded with a tote bag full of peaches to fly home with her which she is enjoying. Also Indiana’s cooler weather in place of 103 degrees in Norman a few times, but they enjoyed their time together and now it is nice to be home. Miss Ingrid Mohsessel, of Bolivia, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. John Shaw, in North Liberty, this week. A group of teenages left early Sunday morning by bus for Murfessboro, Tennessee, for a week of campin on the Bill Rice Ranch. Ihe youngsters were from First Baptist Church and are chaperoned by Mr. and Mrs. John Matousek. Mrs. William Nesbitt and daughters, of O’Fallon, Illinois, spent the latter part of the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet. Other guests on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jacob. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Miller, of Benton, Texas, spent a few days here last week with his stepmother, Mrs. Ada Miller. On Thursday evening they and Mrs. Miller were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles. Bernadette (Sis) Davis, Walkerton, was surprised by her friends and relatives for her 85th birthday, on Sunday, August 11. She married William Davis in 1941 who passed away in 1973. She enjoys the company of her brothers, Amil. Vic and Archie Schultz. There were 40 in attendance at the home of Jim and Paula Patterson for a pot luck dinner, ice cream and cake which was enjoyed by all, this being Mrs. Davis’ first birthday party. Mrs. Elizabeth Martin attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Mary Ball, of Logansport, a daughter of Tom and Gloria Ball, on Saturday at St. Bridgett’s Catholic Church, in Logansport. The groom is James Overly, also of Logansport. Others attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hostetler and family, Walkerton; Mr. and Mrs. Don Martin and daughters. Lakeville; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin and family, of Chillacothe, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wallin, of Leola, Pennsylvania, were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Lind. Mrs. Mildred Cranmer. Koontz Lake, arrived home last week after being away for three weeks. She went to Northport, Washington, for a family reunion, then on the return she stopped for a two week visit with her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Zenger and family, in Hadcan. Kansas. She had a wondefrul trip with plenty of rain to make the country beautiful between here and Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles spent Friday and Saturday in Middlebury with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hellinga and family and to attend the festival there.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright, of upper Sandusky. Ohio, spent the weekend here with his mother, Mrs. Helen Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Roman Brehm will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dipert, of Koontz Lake, attended the wedding of their granddaughter. Marianna Dipert. to David Thomas, in Champaign, Illinois, last week. Wednesday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Freeman were Mr. and Mrs. Warren Baughman, of Bremen. Thursday evening dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sutherland, of Greencastle. Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts were in Muncie on Monday to visit with Margaret Godfrey LaMaitre. Mrs. Don Tuttle, of Muncie, was also a guest. Mrs. Charlotte McGrath, of South Whitley, was a guest of Mrs. Fran Sohn, at Koontz Lake, for several days last week. The two ladies spent the weekend in Hobart and Portage, visiting with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Buel Wheeler, of Plymouth, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Freeman, at Koontz Lake.
