Taylor, son of Robert C. and Rose M. laylor, 614 Washington Street, Walkerton, received the Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant Airman Certificate and License by meeting military service aviation experience and passing written, oral and practical exams while serving in the FTS (Full Time Support) reserve program at Naval Air Station, Glenview. Illinois. Sgt. Taylor joined the FTS program in September of 1984. ARMY AND AIR FORCE HOMETOWN NEWS — Army National Guard Pvt. Ist Gass Steven B. Hall, son of John W. Hall, of 702 S. State Street, North Liberty, has completed one station unit training (OSUT) at the U. S. Amry Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia. OSUT is a 12-week period which combines basic combat training and advanced individual training. 1 The training included weapons qualifications, squad tactics, pa- ' trolling, landmine warfare, field communications and combat operations. Completion of this course qualifies the soldier as a lightweapons infantryman and as an in-direct-fire crewman. Soldiers were taught to perform any of the duties in a rifle or mortar squad. ARMY AND AIR FORCE HOMETOWN NEWS - Staff Sgt , Lesley P. Coburn, son of Edver W. and Joan T. Coburn, of Plymouth, has been decorated with the U. S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Galena Air Force Station, Alaska. The Air Force Commendation Medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Air Force. Cobum is a radio communications technician with the 19315 t Information Systems Wing. His wife, Linda, is the daughter of William L. Flaugher, of Rural Route 1, Grovertown. The sergeant is a 1974 graduate of Plymouth High School. CPR CLASSES TO BE CONDUCTED AT LAPORTE A three-session cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR class will be conducted at LaPorte Hospital’s Health Quarters, 919 Lincolnway. from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, August 13. 20 and 27.
