POTATO CREEK DAYS STUDENT ART AND CRAFT CONTEST The contest rules for the Potato Creek Days Student Art and Crafts Contest are as follows: 1. The project must be handcrafted or created in the last year. (No kits accepted.) No adult or parental assistance for student entries. 2. Judges’ decision is final on authenticity. 3. Any theme or media may be used. 4. Pictures are to be mounted on posterboard, construction paper, or matt board. 5. Fill out entry form and attach to back of item. Please — no names on face of item. 6. Deadline for entries is Saturday. July 20, 1985. GOLF NEWS FROM WHISPERING PINES Blind partners was the play of the day in the Ladies League and winners were Barbara Lenczowski and Barbara Stickler with a total of 92. These two also had low gross, Barbara Lenczowski with 44 and Barbare Stickler with 42. Low net was Barbara Stickler with 29, Sally Wolfe, 33. Martha Gocsh and Barbara Stickler tied for low putts with 16. Rick Sprunger had low gross of 37 in the Friday Night Men’s League. Low net of 30 was Jim Ballinger. Closest to flagstick on 13 was Jim Ballinger and on 15 was Jack Norris. Best ball team with a -1 were Larry Fair, Frank Adkins, Rick Sprunger and Clare Robinett. The league is planning a cookout on July 12 and urges everyone to be there. NEW PARIS SPEEDWAY NEWS Three fantastic days of racing are scheduled for fans this week at New Paris Speedway. Thursday, July 4th, is the “New Paris Picnic”, an old fashioned way to celebrate our nation’s birth. From 12:00 noon to 3:00 in the afternoon, we will have a hog roast on the grounds. There will be a pit stop contest for the crews. At night the outlaw super late models, road runners and coyotes will race in the Freedom 100. A full racing program with 100 laps of feature racing with a huge fireworks display at intermission. Time trails are 6:30 and racing at 8:00 p.m. Friday night, July sth, finds the rock’em sock’em action of the Demolition Derby plus a full racing card of coyotes. Gates open at 5:00, with time trials at 6:30 and racing at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6th finds the Performance Technology Mid-Season Championships at New Paris with trophies and big bucks on the line. All three classes will compete with practice at 3:00, time trials at 6:30 and racing at 8:00 p.m. CHANGING ADDRESS?
