Basically, they are the same, a deep dish peach pie, but with a biscuit-type topping rather than a pastry crust. In the recipe here, the peaches are thickened with corn starch for a true fresh fruit taste and topped, for convenience, with packaged refrigerator biscuits. PEACH COBBLER 6 cups peeled, pitted, sliced 2 I A tablespoons Argo corn peaches (about 12) starch 1 tablespoon lemon juice ‘A teaspoon ground cinnamon * cup sugar 1 package (7.5 oz) refrigerator biscuits In large bowl, toss peaches with lemon juice. In small bowl, stir together sugar, corn starch and cinnamon. Add to peach slices; toss well. Turn into greased 8 X 8 X 2 inch baking dish. Bake in 400’F oven 20 minutes. Arrange biscuits on top. Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until golden brown. Makes 10 servings.

from 14 school corporations across Indiana at Ball State University, Muncie, the week of June 10, to learn about “Growing Healthy”. The teachers went back to class for an intensive training workshop

on the “Growing Healthy” curriculum, a sequential and comprehensive cirriculum developed jointly by the Centers for Disease Control and the America Lung Association. The workshop was sponsored by the American Lung Association of Indiana in conjunction with the Indiana State Board of Health. The training will enable the faculty members to implement the actionoriented curriculum in their classrooms this fall. During this week-long workshop teachers were introduced to the health content, teaching methods, community resources and teaching materials used in each particular unit. The educators also learned how to integrate the “Growing Healthy” into their reading, writing, math and science areas. The “Growing Healthy” curriculum uses models, films, slides, books, pamphlets and resource people for current and active lessons. Much of the curriculum's activities are based in learning centers where small groups of students will explore various aspects of a subject. The “Growing Healthy” curriculum, which has been implemented nationally in over 41 states, is designed to help students learn how their bodies function, how their feelilngs relate to health, and how their own personal choices affect their health now and in the future.
