She closed with prayer. The lesson was given by Mrs. Curl entitled, “Bread From Faith To Faith”. She closed with prayer. The next meeting will be on December 10, at the home of Mrs. Hahn. UREY STUDENT COUNCIL CONDUCTS FOOD DRIVE The Urey Student Council spon sored a Thanksgiving Food Drive for needy Walkerton area residents from November 13 to November 19. Large boxes of food were collected. Top homeroom contributors were Miss Olunds room, which donated 122 food items; and Miss Anderson’s room, which donated 71 food items. The homeroom donating the most non-perishable foods will be given a small party as a reward for their generous contributions. We arc proud that our students have shown an interest in sharing with others who may be less fortunate. AIDING ECUADORAN KIDS Urey Middle School students in Walkerton have raised $520.00 to help children in Ecuador learn about nutrition and change their diets. The Ecuadorians diets are poor because of superstitious beliefs and rigid traditions, according to the Peace Corps organization. “The Urey Middle School donation will be used to overcome these difficulties”, said volunteer David Parker. "The money will purchase materials to begin an innovative educational program featuring puppets, pantomine, drama, music and dance”. The Urey students learned about the progress of Ecuadorian child ren they are helping in the program. The group includes a 7-year-old with a calcium deficiency that stunts physical growth Classifieds begin at $1.50.
