Marge Olson and De Wayne Peters were united in marriage on Saturday, October 27. during a three o’clock double ring ceremony at the Sauktown Church, Mill Creek, with Rev. John C. Wright officiating. The church was decorated with white and orchid potted mums and candles. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Olson. 150 North, Mill Creek, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Peters. Liberty Trail, North Liberty. The bride chose a Queen Anne lace gown featuring a scalloped neckline, puffy sleeves with sequinnes and pearls throughout the gown on the rows of lack and ruffles. She wore a finger tip veil to match the gown and her bouquet was of lavener and pink carnations with baby sweetheart roses and greenery*Matron of honor was Eva Marie

Gark, sister of the bride, South Bend. Bridesmaids were Patty Schmidkunz, LaPorte, cousin of the bride; Kim Peters, sister of the groom. North Liberty, and Shelly Stephens, Walkerton. The matron of honor was attired in a mauve taffeta gown with puffy sleeves that were off the shoulder and the bridesmaids were in eggplant colored floor lenght gowns made like the matron of honor. They carried mauve and eggplant carnations. Serving as best man was Todd Zellers. North Liberty. Groomsmen were Vechal Peters, brother of the groom. Jim Helminzer and Bob Olson, brother of the bride. Ushers were Melvin Schmidkunz. cousin of the bride, and John Moore. A reception was held at the Gleanor Hall. Mill Creek, for approximately 300 guests. The hall was decorated in the bride's chosen colors of white, pink and purple.
Entertainment was the WAOR Music Bandwagon. Cutting the cake was Mary Cuson and Shirley Dows, godmother of the bride, both of Mill Creek. The wedding cake was decorated with mauve and eggplant silk flowers with a bridge with the attendants and groomsmen coming down the other side. The cake was baked by Mrs. Jerry Jozweak. Rolling Prairie, aunt of the bride. The bride is a 1982 graduate of New Prairie High School and is employed by Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton. The groom is a 1983 graduate of John Glenn High School and he left on November 11 with the Navy and will be stationed in San Francisco. California. He had been studying fire technology in the Navy at the Great Lakes Naval Training Base. The rehearsal supper was held at Miller's Home Case, New Carlisle, hosted by the groom's parents. Dec. 5 Set For St. Pat’s Club Christmas Party St. Patrick's Women's Club will meet Wednesday, December 5, for the annual Christmas party which this year will be at the Mint Julip, 525 E. Washington Street, South Bend. Reservations are due by Sunday, November 25, by calling Pat Cowger at 586-3808 or Nancy Kindt at 784-2873. A choice of prime rib or New York strip at $ll.OO or chicken kiev or sole almondeen at $9.00 will be indicated. The school bus will leave from the church parking lot at 5:15 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. dinner. There will be a $2.00 gift exchange. Mark gifts for man or for woman. Jean Harris presided at the meeting when members were reminded to bring non-perishable food items and place in boxes at the back of the church to be taken to the community food pantry at the Presbyterian Church. Marty Malstaff reported progress on the church directory. Pictures will be taken of congregation members Friday, Saturday. Sunday and Monday, November 23, 24. 25 and 26. Celeste Dooms reported her telephone committee is calling for appointments. Anyone not contacted should call her at 6568343. Group pictures will be taken from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. November 25. including the church council committee, all ushers, altar boys, St. Patrick's Women’s Club officers, club past presidents, school room mothers and church organists. Please be present. Plans were made for a bake sale on Saturday, November 17, at the Farmers State Bank building. The speaker was Dr. Michael Sheehan, PhD who discussed ’’Parenting And Self Esteem”. He said self esteem is a critical mental health skill, and is a better predictor of intelligence quota than the tradition IQ test. Those who missed this program, missed a most interesting and entertaining lecture. SENIOR CITIZENS BOWLING NEWS There were 25 seniors out for their weekly session of making the pins fly and relieving their aggressive tensions by hurling the ball down the alleys (and sometimes, the gutters)!. All you seniors should come out on Wednesday afternoons and try it . . . you might just like it! The high scratch series among the ladies was rolled by Norine Divine, with a 382 series. Anne Labno took high scratch game honors with 148 and high handicap game with 213. All the ladies were improving their averages. Claude Nowakowski continues his "winning ways” with a high handicap game of 241. Marion Anderson rolled a fine 198 high scratch game. There were three

Szombathy, daughter of Daniel and Beveraly Szombathy, Rural Route 1, Grovertown, has been selected as the Oregon-Davis High School nominee to the Hoby Foundation Seminar. The Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation conducts leadership seminars in all 50 states in the srping of each year with over 8,000 high school sophomores attend. At each state seminar, one boy and one girl will be selected to attend a week-long all-expense-paid international leadership seminar to be held in Los Angeles, California, in August, 1985. The purpose of the seminars is to bring sophomore students with demonstrated leadership qualities together with a group of distinguished leaders in business, science, education, government and the professions, and let the two interact. The intense, but informal discussions help young students think for themselves and learn that they as individuals are important and that their thoughts and actions can make a difference. One box will be delivered to the Community Pantry for needy fam ilies. at the Presbyterian Church, in Walkerton, and a box will be prepared for a needy family in Johnson Township. Luncheon will be serv ed at 12:30 p.m. E.S.T., at the clubhouse by Carolyn Bierly. Myrtle Smith, Josephine Smith and Ethel Bierly. Catherine Hostetler presided at the meeting and displayed Christ mas tree ornaments made by Pauline Johnson for the recent Christmas workshop in LaPorte. Pauline Johnson gave the health and safety report on eating right to help control high blood pressure Anette Hesters gave a lesson on computers. Josephine Smith resigned as club secretary due to ill health and Alma Daube was appointed to fill her term of office.
