The occasion was a belated birthday celebration for Tom Hellinga, who was home on a semester break from the Institute of Technology at Phoenix, Arizona. The 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stull was observed on Sunday at the Tyner 1.0.0. F. Hall. The open house was given by their children for friends and family members. Those from away attending included Mrs. Stull’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herber Holsinger; Jeff Holsinger, of Terre Haute; Mrs. Lena Mink and Mrs. Sue Clark, of Indianapolis; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cripe, of Whittier, California. David Sharp, of Merrillville, were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Helen Wright. Mrs. Russell Milner and two sons, of Warsaw, were Saturday visitors of Mrs. J. C. Milner of the 76 Apartments. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paschen, Jr., entertained with a hog roast on Saturday afternoon and evening for 'their families, friends and some of the local fire department and their families. Mrs. Pauline Laskowski, North Liberty, Miss Catherine Keefe and Mrs. Vee Shogren were in Indianapolis, on Saturday, for a China Painting Council meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Duthie left on Sunday for their home at Fedhaven, Florida, and their home at Koontz Lake is being occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Ted Arnett. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ginzer, Sr., were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Weldy and children, in Lafayette, for the weekend attending the Purude and Miama football game and the 38th anniversary dinner at the Morris Bryant Restaurant. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weiler accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris, of Elkhart, to Mattoon, Illinois, on Sunday, to attend the 65th wedding anniversary reception of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Wishart. Mr. Wishart is Mrs. Weller’s eldest brother. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey, Monique and Wes, were Florence Sheets, of Bethesda, Maryland; Ed Dalke and Alice Sokola, of North Liberty; and Clem Krejowski, of South Bend. Also spending the day with her parents was Mashelle. of Illinois, and Bill Carl. Mrs. Norma Corbett underwent surgery last Wednesday on both legs and one hand at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend. She is making satisfactory recovery and really appreciates receiving cards. Her room number is 570. Mrs. Robert Smith returned home on September 4 after spending a week in Salyersville, Kentucky, with her parents. On September 2 the 42nd wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Collins was celebrated as a sur-

prise to the honored couple with all 13 of their children present. The dinner was enjoyed at their home but the family first gathered at the Baptish Church for services. Mr. Charles Decker and his mother, Mrs. Helen Decker, returned last week from a week spent visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Decker and family, in Honea Path, South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rockenbaugh, of Millersburg, returned from a three week trip through the west. They left on August 22 and made a short visit with the Gregory Reamers, in Utica, Illinois. In Laramie, Wyoming, they were overnight guests of their great nephew, James Turley. They arrived at their niece’s home in Sandy, Oregon, and the week was spent visiting with the J. Frank Turleys and seeing the many sights around Portland and went up the ski area of Mt. Hood and had dinner at Timberline Lodge. The Turleys have a magnificent view of Mt. Hood from their home. They spent a day at the seashore, saw the beautiful Rose Garden of Portland which was brilliant with roses and a day was spent at the Oregon State Fair, at Salem. such a beautiful blue. They continued south into California to sec the Redwoods, visited Yosemite National Forest, Kings Canyon and the Sequoia National Forest which is the home of the giant Redwoods. They then crossed the Majove desert and had a nice rain shower, visited the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and from there they went to Los Alamos, New Mexico, where they visited with a nephew, Mr. and Mrs. John Rink, for several days. They visited in Taos and Pueblo which is an old Indian village where the Indians live as their ancestors lived. On September 10, they went to Colorado Springs where they visited the Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods and a great niece who resides there. A visit to Pike’s Peak via the cog railway was very nice. They arrived home on Thursday, September 13, after a tiring but very enjoyable trip. Mr. and Mrs. John Cowger were called to Tampa, Florida, last week due to the death of his brother, Donald James Cowger. On Monday morning, 29 passengers boarded a United Limo bus at 6 and 31 and headed for Archbold, Ohio, where they visited the Sauder farm and Craft Village and Museum. They all enjoyed dinner together, family style, at the Old Barn Restaurant. Following din-
