Selected was a pastel portrait of her daughter, Kelly. This is a juried show which means the entries are pre-judged and only a small percentage are approved for hanging. It is an honor to be entered in this exhibit because of the keen competition and only three prizes are awarded. Non-professional photography boasted 2.043 entries before judging and only one third were accepted for hanging. Paula had two entries accepted. One picture was of her sister’s children making faces and the second was a box car hinge which had been painted many times and had peeled off in different colors. These entries are now on display in the Lens & Easel Gallery, just east of Walkerton. The Home and Family Arts building houses the art and photography at the State Fair, in Indianapolis.
