Caln Paces The Falcons To Second Cluster Win 41*21 After being outgained and leading by only a single point at halftime, the John Glenn Falcons struck quickly in the third quarter to take command of their game with Guster 50 opponent, the Triton Trojans Friday night to wrap up a 41-21 victory. The win raised the Falcons record to 2-1 on the year, a perfect 2-0 in cluster play, while Triton extended their losing streak, the longest in the state, and they are 0-3 this season. However, the Trojans were a formidable opponent and seem to have things headed in the right direction under second year coach Brett Stoker. It could just be a matter of time until that elusive win is theirs as they did not seem to be a team that will selfdestruct, but one that needs some help and breaks along the way. For coach John Hostrawser, he again had superb running performances from senior Mark Cain and sophomore David Rupel. Cain logged a massive 246 yards in 25 carries as he had nine individual runs of over 10 yards and scored four touchdowns and a two-point conversion to raise his total to 44 points in three games. He has gained 502 yards in 50 carries in three games. Rupel got his second 100 yard game, getting an even 100 on 20 carries. The past two weeks victories, however, came over the only two teams Glenn was able to defeat last season and a strong schedule looms ahead for the Falcons. JG Statistics T 15 First Downs 13 333 Rushing 128 3 Passing 137 4 Passes Attempted 21 1 Passes Completed 11 0 Had Intercepted 2 58 Return Yards 6 1 Punts 1 20 Average Yards 29 1 Fumbles 2 1 Fumbles Lost 2 35 Yards Penalized 50 52 Offensive Plays 52 The game was played even for the first half, give or take an extra point play or two. After kicking to Triton to open the game, the Falcons held and forced a punt. Taking possession on their own 41 yard line, Cain hit two rushes in a row for 21 and 20 yards. After Rupel picked up nine, Cain took the ball the final nine for the first score, a four play drive that covered 59 yards. Rupel then missed his first PAT of the year as he hit the crossbar, but it was Glenn 6-0 after just 3:26 had elapsed. That didn’t last long however as the Tritons only were able to return the ensuing kickoff to the 20 after a muff, but from here a 12 play drive covered the 80 yards with three big pass plays picking up most of the yardage. Jeff Wanemacher hit Zak Lemier for a big 30 yarder and Jeff Mellott for another 13 as the Trojans mixed their plays well and also picked up two first downs rushing. Then on a third and goal from the 11. a halfback option pass from Jim Shively to Dave Beldon accounted for the TD. Ryan Meister kicked the extra point and the Trojans led 7-6 with 1:50 left in the opening stanza. A couple of turnovers followed the next kickoff. Glenn started at their own 47 and gained three first (continued on Page 16)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SEWER HOOK-UPS As of September 15, 1984, the Town Board has ruled that all residents that need to be hooked up to the sewer system are obliged to do so. A permit of $5.00 is necessary and can be purchased at the clerktreasurer's office. The permit allows Mr. Jeff Zehner to inspect the work so that it is important that none of the work can be covered up until such time that Mr. Zehner does the inspection. Individuals that are required to hook up can do so within 90 days of the September 15th date. If individuals do not hook up within that time frame then they will be charged a $500.00 fee to hook up. Because of plant startup the rates on the sewer charge will change. At the present time everyone is being charged half of what they will be charged. Because of the fact that Walkerton purchased a loan from FHA for this project they have been allowed to charge 50% of the rate in order to generate monies to pay back the loan. The 100% charge will be in effect on everyone's November 1, 1984 billing. That 100% charge will be: Base charge — $5.00; User charge — $1.16 per 1,000 gallons of water. If anyone would like to go into more detail on their sewer charges please come to the clerk-treasur-er’s office Monday through Friday and it will be explained to you.
