J.G. 1984-85 Bus Routes & School Times Listed

Starting and dismissal times at all buildings in the John Glenn School Corporation have been changed from previous years. Students and parents should take note of the following building schedules: John Glenn High School, starts 8:00 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:15 p.m. North Liberty Elementary/Middle School starts at 8:30 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:35 p.m. Urey Middle School starts at 8:05 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:10 p.m. Walkerton Elementary School starts at 8:10 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:05 p.m. Polk, Lincoln, Johnson Routes The bus routes and times for Johnson, Lincoln, and Polk Township students are essentially unchanged. Old Fashioned Day Planned By Local Methodists Members of the Walkerton United Methodist Church would like to invite residents of the community to join them for “Old Fashioned Day”. The event will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, at the church at 1000 Georgia Street, Walkerton. An ice cream social featuring sloppy joes, hot dogs, drinks and plenty of homemade ice cream and cake will run during all the festivities. An arts and crafts display in the fellowship hall also is slated from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Recreational events include a softball game starting at 1:00 p.m. at John Glenn High School and children’s games from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the church grounds. A horseshoe pitching contest will begin with open competition from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the championship from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Dixie Walkers will put on an exhibition of square dancing from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., then their caller will lead all those who would like to participate in a square dance “easy enough for everyone". Morris Searfoss is general chairman of the day, with Jim Hostetler, Maryin Hochstetler and Chet Mayflower serving as advisors. Other committee members include Mar-

Goff, son of Gordon S. and Sandra K. Goff, of State Road 23, North Liberty, has completed Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. During the six weeks at Lackland, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. The airman will now begin on-the-job training in the transportation field at Grissom Air Force Base, Indiana. He is a 1984 graduate of John Glenn High School. Deneen Joyce Wringer became the bride of Kirk Dean Weldy during a 7:00 p.m. ceremony at the LaPaz Church of God on Friday, August 3. Rev Donald Unsell officiated at the candlelight ceremony. Candleabras decorated with white carnations and pink roses decorated the church along with pew bows. Miss Deb Snyder was organist and Miss Darlene Pearson flutist. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Wringer, Rural Route 1, Walkerton. The bride is a graduate of John Glenn High School and she attended Ancilla College. Miss Donna Jean Smith was maid of honor and bridesmaid I was Miss Deanna Shank, both friends of the bride. They wore floor lenght pink organza over taffeta gowns and wore halos of white and pink flowers and carried colonial bouquets of white carnations and pink roses. Jeff Holderman, Marco Island, Florida, friend of the groom, was best man and groomsman was Mark Dickson, Lakeville, friend of the groom. Ushers were Joe Holland, Walkerton, and Marty Dickey, Lakeville. A reception for approximately 250 guests was held in the church fellowship hall. The couple reside on Marco Island, Florida. Guests came from Hamlet, Bremen, South Bend, Plymouth, Lakeville, Walkerton, New Mexico and Florida.
