UNITED TELEPHONE CHANGES OFFICE HOURS AT PLYMOUTH United Telephone of Indiana has announced a change in business hours at its Plymouth office, as well as changes in some service numbers for area customers. Beginning August 6, United’s Plymouth office hours will be 9:00 - 4:00 Monday through Friday. The firm’s New Carlisle office is open 9:30 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while the North Libertv office is open 9:30 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 on Tuesday and Thursday. To order service or ask billing questions, customers are urged to telephone a United service representative between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, toll-free at 1-800-257-3212 (residential and single-line businesses) or 1-800-552-3422 (multi-line businesses). All other service numbers remain the same as shown in the Phone Book, according to Andy Arnold, Plymouth customer service manager for United. ATHLETIC INSURANCE REQUIRED FOR ALL J.G.H.S. ATHLETES All John Glenn High School athletes will again be required to take - out school athletic insurance in : order to participate in 1984-85 praci tices. The one time fee this year will be $12.00 and checks may be t made payable to John Glenn High ‘ School and given to the athlete’s coach before the athlete may participate in any practice. The fall sports for girls volleyball, boys tennis, cross country and football will officially begin on Monday, August 6. Athletes should watch for announcements that will appear soon in this paper. ENROLLING STUDENTS FOR PROJECT HEAD START Project Head Start of St. Joseph County is now enrolling in Walkerton and North Liberty areas. Head Start is a pre-school program designed to serve children from low income families and the program is funded by the Federal Government and is free to those who qualify. Your child must be three on or before June 30, 1984, for the three-year-old class and the four-year-old class students must be four years old before August 31. TO HEAR GIRLS STATE REPRESENTATIVES The regular meeting of Orville Easterday Unit 189, American Legion Auxiliary, will be August 2, at the Post Home. Note the time change — 7:00 p.m. This is to accomodate the Girls State representatives, Lisa Parker and Karen Lasocha, who will relate their experiences while delegates to Hoosier Girls State, at Indiana State University. The public is invited to attend this meeting. HOLD ANNUAL PICNIC The Pine Creek Church of the Brethren Senior Citizens annual picnic will be held on Tuesday, August 7, with a cook-out at the church park on Pine Road. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the fellowship, food and fun. All senior citizens of the community are invited. HEAD-START PRE-REGISTRATION Referrals of families who may qualify for Head Start Services are being accepted by Marshall-Starke Development Center. Eligibility . criteria for children enrolled includes the following: — Resident of Marshall or Starke ( Counties; — 3 or 4 years old; and — Family income limitations.
