BENJAMIN 0. BIERLY Benjamin O. Bierly, 67, Rural Route 3, Box 685, Walkerton, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, following a seven month illness. He was a farmer. He was born on October 6, 1916, at LaPorte and was a lifetime Walkerton resident. He married Marguerite Krick on April 21, 1937, in Rensselaer, who survives. Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Judy Canada, of Lucerne, and Bonita Tracy, of Tyner; four sons, Jerry, of Park, Texas, Harold, of Tampa, Florida, Jack, of Walkerton, and Ted, of Koontz Lake; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Russell, Amos, Floyd and Lester, all of Walkerton; and three sisters, Josephine Smith and Ethel Bierly, both of Walerton, and j Doris Malstaff, of LaPorte. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. Lloyd George, pastor of the Koontz Lake Missionary Church, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. He was a member of the Starke County Merit Board. ADA M. STEFFEN Ada Myrtle Steffen, 94, of Pilgrom Manor Convalescent Center, Plymouth, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the center following an illness. She was bom on July 31, 1889, in Starke County. She lived in the Koontz Lake area all her life. As Ada Stanton she married Moody Rodgers, who preceded her in death. In South Bend she then married Walter Steffen, who preceded her in death. Surviving are three sisters, Nora Spaid and Vada Klingerman, both of Plymouth, and Violet Jacobson, of Tyner. Two brothers preceded her in death. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton. Burial was in the Tyner Cemetery. RUTH E. KEB Ruth E. Keb, 76, of 502 W. Pine, North Liberty, passed away at 8:27 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. She was born on February 29, 1908, in Knox and she lived in North Liberty for 45 years moving there from Walkerton. As Ruth E. Davis she married Albert T. Keb on July 1, 1950, in Mishawaka, who survives. Surviving along with her husband is a daughter, Rosemary Cagle, of Mulberry, Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Mary Etta Gamer,

of Argos; a son, Dale Newcomer, of Walkerton; two stepsons, Albert R. Keb, of Bourbon, and Charles W. Keb, of South Bend; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Maude Everton, of Indianapolis, and Naomi Krusinski, of South Bend; and a brother, Carl Davis, of St. James City, Florida. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the A. M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty, with Rev. Dorman Hutchenson, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. She was employed at the Studebaker Corp, for 20 years and was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 290, North Liberty. MICHELLE DUDECK Michelle Dudeck, 16, of 27681 Jackson Road, North Liberty, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, from injuries she suffered in a traffic accident on July 16, at Indiana 2 and Quince Road. She had been in intensive care at the hospital since the accident. County police reported at the time that Miss Dudeck was eastbound on Indiana 2 around 6:30 a.m. when she began a left turn on to Quince and drove directly into the path of a Mayflower moving van that was westbound and was struck broadside by the semi. The van drug the Dudeck vechicle several feet following impact and the two vehicles then hit a stockade fence, two telephone poles and several parked automobiles. She was boro on December 6, 1967, in South Bend to Ronald and Carol Dudeck, of North Liberty. She was a student at Washington High School and lived in this area all of her life. Surviving along with her parents are three sisters, Mary Creech, of South Bend, Sandra Dudeck, at home, and Gail Strong, of Walkerton; a brother, Gregory, of South Bend; her maternal grandmother, Mary Lee Gaby, South Bend; her paternal grandmother, Margaret A.
